3 cups farfalle (bow-tie pasta), uncooked
1 lb. Italian sausage
1 small onion, chopped
2 cans (14.5 oz. each) diced tomatoes with basil, garlic and oregano, undrained
1 can (6 oz.) tomato paste
1-1/2 cups KRAFT Shredded Mozzarella Cheese, divided
1 cup POLLY-O Natural Part Skim Ricotta Cheese
1/4 cup KRAFT Grated Parmesan Cheese
2 Tbsp. water
1/4 tsp. black pepper

Steps:

  • Cook pasta as directed on package, omitting salt.
  • Meanwhile, brown sausage in large skillet on medium heat; drain. Add onions; cook 3 min. or until tender, stirring frequently. Add tomatoes, tomato paste and 3/4 cup mozzarella cheese; mix well.
  • Mix ricotta, Parmesan, water and pepper. Drain pasta; add to skillet; mix well. Top with cheese mixture; sprinkle with remaining mozzarella. Cover; cook on low heat 3 min. or until mozzarella is melted.

1 small onion, chopped
1 garlic clove, minced
1 can (14-1/2 ounces) diced tomatoes, undrained
1-1/2 cups water
1 can (6 ounces) tomato paste
1 tablespoon dried parsley flakes
2 teaspoons dried oregano
1 teaspoon salt
2-1/2 cups uncooked bow tie pasta
3/4 cup 4% cottage cheese
1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese

Steps:

  • In a large cast-iron or other heavy skillet, cook beef, onion and garlic until meat is no longer pink; drain. Add the tomatoes, water, tomato paste, parsley, oregano and salt. Stir in pasta; bring to a boil. Reduce heat; cover and simmer until pasta is tender, 20-25 minutes, stirring once. , Combine cheeses; drop by rounded tablespoonfuls onto pasta mixture. Cover and cook for 5 minutes. If desired, sprinkle with additional dried oregano.

8 ounces bow tie pasta, farfalle
1 tablespoon oil
1 small onion, chopped
8 ounces lean ground beef or 8 ounces turkey
1 (14 ounce) jar spaghetti sauce, your choice
1 cup ricotta cheese or 1 cup low fat cottage cheese
1 egg
2 tablespoons grated parmesan cheese
1 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 425.
  • Grease 8x8 square baking dish.
  • In large pot boil 4 qts water and partially cook pasta for half of the directed time.
  • In large skillet heat oil over medium heat.
  • Add onion and saute 1 minute.
  • Stir in beef or turkey and cook until lightly browned about 3 minutes.
  • Add spaghetti sauce and bring to a boil.
  • Reduce heat to low and partially cover the skillet.
  • Simmer for 5 minutes.
  • In small bowl mix ricotta or cottage cheese with egg and Parmesan.
  • Drain the pasta throughly.
  • Layer half the pasta in the pan.
  • Spoon cheese mixture over the pasta.
  • Spoon half the meat mixture over the cheese.
  • Sprinkle with half the mozzarella.
  • Make another layer with the remaining pasta, then the meat then the mozzarela.
  • Cover pan with foil, spraying the inside facing the cheese with pam.
  • Bake for 15 minutes.
  • Uncover and bake for another 8-10 minutes or until heated through.

1 lb lean ground beef or italian sausage
1 small onion, chopped
2 clove garlic, minced
1 can(s) 14.5 oz. diced tomatoes
1 1/2 c water
1 tsp sugar
1 small can tomato paste
1 Tbsp parsley
1 tsp salt
1/4 tsp freshly ground black pepper or red pepper flakes.
2 1/2 c bow tie pasta, uncooked
1-1 1/2 c ricotta cheese or small curd cottage cheese
1/4 c parmesan cheese, shredded or grated

Steps:

  • 1. Cook ground beef, onion, and garlic. Drain if necessary.
  • 2. Add tomatoes, water, tomato paste, sugar, salt and pepper.
  • 3. Stir in uncooked pasta and bring to a full boil; then reduce heat to a simmer.
  • 4. Cover and simmer for 20-25 minutes.
  • 5. Combine ricotta (or cottage cheese) and parmesan cheese. Drop by tablespoon onto pasta mixture. Sprinkle with parsley , cover and simmer for an additional 5 minutes. Top with additional parmesan or mozzarella, if desired.

I never realized you could make lasagna on the stove top til I tried this recipe! It was perfect and easy! This recipe was shown to me by a cook named Pleclare. She found this recipe in a Woman's World magazine. The photo is my own.

2 lb plum tomatoes-chopped (4cups)**see note
4 Tbsp fresh basil-chopped
1-15oz container ricotta cheese
1/2 c shredded parmesan cheese
2 Tbsp olive oil, extra virgin
1 onion-chopped
2 clove fresh garlic-minced
1 tsp kosher salt
1/2 tsp pepper
1/2 c dry white wine-not cooking wine
9 oz box oven-ready lasagna noodles-broken into thirds
8 oz mini mozarella balls
**note when i made this i used more than this. you can even use your own sauce recipe.

Steps:

  • 1. Combine 1 c tomatoes and 1 Tbs basil; reserve In seperate bowl,combine ricotta and parmesan;reserve.
  • 2. In 10" non-stick skillet,heat oil over med. heat. Add onion,garlic,salt,pepper and remaining 3 cups tomatoes;cook stirring until softened,12 to 15 mins. Stir in wine and 1/2 c water,boil 1 min. Transfer to bowl;stir in remaining 3 Tbs basil.
  • 3. In same skillet,spread 3/4 c sauce. Top with 6 noodle pieces,1/2 ricotta mixture and 1/3 of mini mozzarella balls. Repeat. Add noodles and remaining sauce.. Bring to boil. Cover;reduce heat to med-low. cook till noodles are tender ,30 mins.
  • 4. Remove skillet from heat. Top with remaining mozzarella balls. Cover;let stand until melted,5 mins. Top with reserved tomato-basil mixture.
