Meaty sirloin teams up with asparagus, sun-dried tomatoes and fresh basil in this tasty pasta supper.

2 cups uncooked bow-tie (farfalle) pasta (4 oz)
1 1/2 lb boneless beef sirloin steak, about 3/4 inch thick
1 lb asparagus, cut into 2-inch pieces (about 3 cups)
2 medium onions, sliced (about 1 cup)
1 1/2 cups Progresso™ beef flavored broth (from 32-oz carton)
1 cup Muir Glen™ organic tomato puree (from 28-oz can)
3 tablespoons chopped fresh or 1 tablespoon dried basil leaves
3 tablespoons chopped sun-dried tomatoes (not oil-packed)
1/4 teaspoon pepper
2 tablespoons freshly grated Parmesan cheese

Steps:

  • Cook and drain pasta as directed on package.
  • Meanwhile, remove fat from beef. Cut beef with grain into 2-inch strips; cut strips across grain into 1/8-inch slices; set aside.
  • Spray 12-inch skillet with cooking spray; heat over medium heat. Add asparagus, onions and 1 cup of the broth; cook 5 to 7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until liquid has evaporated. Remove vegetables from skillet.
  • Add beef to skillet. Cook about 2 minutes, stirring frequently, until beef is brown.
  • Stir in asparagus mixture, remaining 1/2 cup broth, the pasta and remaining ingredients except cheese. Cook about 2 minutes, stirring frequently, until hot. Sprinkle with cheese.

3 garlic cloves, minced
2 cartons (32 ounces each) reduced-sodium beef broth
2 cans (14-1/2 ounces each) diced tomatoes with green pepper, celery and onion, undrained
1 teaspoon dried basil
1/2 teaspoon pepper
1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
1/4 teaspoon salt
3 cups uncooked bow tie pasta
4 cups fresh spinach, coarsely chopped
Grated Parmesan cheese

Steps:

  • In a 6-qt. stockpot, cook beef and garlic over medium heat until beef is no longer pink, breaking up beef into crumbles, 6-8 minutes; drain. Stir in broth, tomatoes and seasonings; bring to a boil. Stir in pasta; return to a boil. Cook, uncovered, until pasta is tender, 7-9 minutes., Stir in spinach until wilted. 1 ½ pounds ground beef
salt and ground black pepper to taste
½ cup chopped yellow onion
¼ cup chopped green bell pepper
¼ cup chopped carrot
2 cloves garlic, chopped
1 (15 ounce) can diced tomatoes
1 (8 ounce) can tomato sauce
1 (8 ounce) can sliced mushrooms, drained
1 tablespoon brown sugar
2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
1 (8 ounce) package bow-tie pasta (farfalle)
1 (10.75 ounce) can cream of mushroom soup
¼ pound shredded Cheddar cheese

Steps:

  • Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Cook and stir beef, salt, and black pepper in the hot skillet until browned and crumbly, 5 to 7 minutes; drain and discard grease. Add onion, green bell pepper, carrot, and garlic to ground beef; cook and stir until onion is lightly browned, about 15 minutes.
  • Mix tomatoes, tomato sauce, mushrooms, brown sugar, and Worcestershire sauce into ground beef-vegetable mixture; season with salt and black pepper. Cook on low until liquid is reduced and flavors have blended, about 45 minutes.
  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  • Bring a large pot of lightly salted water to a boil. Cook the bow-tie pasta at a boil, stirring occasionally, until cooked through yet firm to the bite, about 12 minutes; drain and transfer pasta to a 9x13-inch casserole dish.
  • Spoon cream of mushroom soup over bow-tie pasta; top with ground beef-tomato mixture. Sprinkle Cheddar cheese on top.
  • Bake in the preheated oven until casserole is bubbling and Cheddar cheese is melted, about 45 minutes.

1 pound ground beef

Steps:

  • Fill a large pot with lightly salted water and bring to a rolling boil over high heat. Once the water is boiling, stir in the bow-tie pasta and return to a boil. Cook the pasta uncovered, stirring occasionally, until the pasta has cooked through, but is still firm to the bite, about 12 minutes. Drain well in a colander set in the sink.
  • In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef until browned and crumbly, about 10 minutes; drain off excess fat. Stir in garlic and cook for 5 minutes, stirring frequently. Stir in tomatoes, salt, and pepper. Cook, stirring occasionally, until tomatoes are soft, about 5 minutes.

2 cups sliced zucchini
1 can (14-1/2 ounces) beef broth
1 cup uncooked bow tie pasta
3/4 cup water
1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
1/4 to 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
1/4 to 1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
1-1/2 pounds ground beef
1 cup chopped onion
2 teaspoons minced garlic
4 plum tomatoes, cut into chunks
1/4 cup minced fresh basil
1/2 cup shredded Parmesan cheese

Steps:

  • In a Dutch oven, combine the first seven ingredients. Bring to a boil. With a spoon, press pasta into broth mixture. Reduce heat; cover and simmer for 15 minutes or until pasta is tender, stirring once., Meanwhile, in a large skillet, cook the beef, onion and garlic over medium heat until meat is no longer pink; drain. , Add the beef mixture, tomatoes and basil to the broth mixture; heat through. Bow Tie Pasta with Beef image

About 0.7 kg of stewing beef
2 tablespoons of butter
1 onion chopped
Salt and pepper to taste
Water
1 box of bow tie pasta 300 g. (I use whole wheat)
2 tablespoons of beef stock concentrate (Knorr Bovril)
2 tablespoons of Knorr Veloutine (instant thickener for white sauce)
Mashed potatoes (optional)

Steps:

  • In a large sauce pan, melt the butter at medium high heat.
  • Add the chopped onion and sauté for a few minutes.
  • Add the stewing beef and brown the beef on all sides.
  • Season the beef with salt and pepper and add water to the sauce pan until the beef is completely covered.
  • Cover, reduce the heat and simmer for 1 1/2 to 2 hours.
  • After 2 hours, add more water so that the sauce pan is filled half way.
  • Bring to a boil.
  • Add the pasta to the broth and cook until pasta is tender.
  • When the pasta is tender, add the beef stock concentrate, Knorr Veloutine and continue to simmer for a few minutes until the broth thickens.
  • Add salt and pepper if necessary.
  • Serve just like this, or over mashed potatoes.
