This is a favorite snack of mine that I serve when hosting my husband's office parties. Crunchy smoked almonds complement the creamy cheese dip.-Barb Whatley, Fremont, Nebraska

7 bacon strips, chopped
2 garlic cloves, minced
1 package (8 ounces) cream cheese, softened
1/4 cup half-and-half cream
1 cup (4 ounces) crumbled blue cheese
2 tablespoons minced chives
3 tablespoons coarsely chopped smoked almonds
Bagel chips

Steps:

  • In a large skillet, cook bacon over medium heat until crisp. Using a slotted spoon, remove to paper towels; drain, reserving 1/2 teaspoon drippings., Saute garlic in reserved drippings for 1 minute; transfer to a small bowl. Add cream cheese and cream; beat until smooth. Stir in the blue cheese, chives and bacon., Transfer to a 1-qt. baking dish; cover and bake at 350° for 25 minutes. Uncover and bake 5-10 minutes longer or until lightly browned. Sprinkle with almonds; serve with chips.

I had this at a housewarming party and just had to ask the hostess for it. Serve with an assortment of crackers and or fresh veggies. Of the cook time, 10 minutes is preparation, the rest of the cook time is time for dip to chill.

1 (8 ounce) carton sour cream
6 slices finely chopped cooked bacon
2 tablespoons finely chopped green onions

1/3 cup chopped walnuts

Steps:

  • In a mixing bowl, beat together cheese, sour cream, and onion with electric mixer until fluffy.
  • Stir in blue cheese, walnuts, and bacon.
  • Mix well.
  • Chill up to 24 hours.
  • If dip thickens after chilling, stir in 1 to 2 tablespoons milk.
  • Serve and enjoy.

Even people that don't like blue cheese love this wonderful hot dip. It can be served with vegetables, but I find that people like it best with French bread.

7 slices bacon
2 cloves garlic, peeled and minced
1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese, softened
¼ cup half-and-half
4 ounces blue cheese, crumbled
2 tablespoons chopped fresh chives

Steps:

  • Place bacon in a large, deep skillet. Cook over medium high heat until evenly brown. Remove bacon from skillet, drain on paper towels and crumble.
  • Place garlic in hot bacon grease. Cook and stir until soft, about 1 minute. Remove from heat.
  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Place cream cheese and half-and-half in a medium bowl. Beat with an electric mixer until blended. Stir in bacon, garlic, blue cheese and chives. Transfer mixture to a medium baking dish.
  • Bake covered in the preheated oven 30 minutes, or until lightly browned.

Easy cheese spread with bacon, onion, and blue cheese!

6 slices bacon (chopped)
1/2 cup onion (chopped)
1 clove garlic (minced)
4 ounces cream cheese (softened)
1/2 cup blue cheese (crumbled)
Salt & Pepper to taste
Serving suggestions: vegetables, crackers, toasted baguette slices, pretzels, etc.

Steps:

  • Place bacon, onion, and garlic in a medium skillet over medium-high heat. Cook until bacon is crispy and onion is cooked through. Remove from heat and set aside to cool.
  • In a medium mixing bowl mix together cream cheese, blue cheese, bacon, onion, and garlic until well combined (or place in a food processor and process several times until just combined). Add salt and pepper to taste.
  • Refrigerate until ready to serve.

1/3 cup half-and-half
5 ounces crumbled blue cheese
2 tablespoons chopped fresh chives, divided
3 tablespoons chopped walnuts, divided
Grape clusters
Flatbread or assorted crackers

Steps:

  • In a frying pan over medium heat cook the bacon until crisp. Drain on paper towel and crumble. Set aside 2 TBSP for topping the dip.
  • Leave about 2 to 3 TBSP bacon grease in the frying pan and saute the minced garlic 2 to 3 minutes or until just starting to turn golden. Remove from heat.
  • In a large mixing bowl beat the cream cheese and half and half until smooth and well blended.
  • Add the blue cheese, garlic, 1 TBSP of the chives, and 2 TBSP walnuts. Mix gently until combined
  • Put dip into an oven proof bowl with lid and heat in the oven at 350 degrees for 20 to 30 minutes or until mixture is bubbly. Stir occasionally.
  • Remove from oven and sprinkle with remaining bacon, chives and walnuts.
  • Serve on a platter with grapes and crackers

1 (8-ounce) tub whipped cream cheese
3/4 cup crumbled Danish blue cheese
3/4 cup sour cream
2 tablespoons mayonnaise
1 teaspoon prepared horseradish
2 tablespoons minced onion
1 tablespoon Italian seasoning
Dash of hot pepper sauce
6 slices peppered bacon, cooked until crisp and crumbled
Apple wedges, cut up raw vegetables, and/or Wheat Thins

Steps:

  • 1. Put the cream cheese, blue cheese, sour cream, mayonnaise, horseradish, onion, Italian seasoning, and pepper sauce in a food processor. Pulse until very smooth. Add the bacon and pulse until just blended.
  • 2. Transfer to a bowl, cover, and refrigerate until the flavors are well integrated, at least one hour or overnight.
  • 3. Serve with apples, vegetables, and/or Wheat Thins.
