20-Minute BLT Puffed Pastry Pizza image

20-Minute BLT Puffed Pastry Pizza - A quick and easy meal sure to please the whole family!

Provided by Ashley Manila

Time 20m

Number Of Ingredients 10

2 whole sheets of frozen puffed pastry
2 teaspoons olive oil, for brushing
1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
1/4 teaspoon salt (I like using finely ground sea salt here)
(1) Packet Hidden Valley® Greek Yogurt Salad Dressing Mix
1 1/3 cups Greek yogurt (I used full-fat but reduced fat is OK)
3 tablespoons milk (I used 2% but any fat ratio should work fine)
8 strips of bacon, fried until crispy
2 cup baby arugula, or lettuce of your choice
2 cups cherry tomatoes, cut in half

Steps:

  • *Thaw the puffed pastry on the counter for at least 30 minutes.
  • Preheat oven to 425 degrees (F).
  • Once thawed, carefully open the sheets of pastry. Using a sharp knife slice them in half, straight down the middle. Place the pastry on a large baking sheet lined with parchment or a silicon baking mat. Lightly brush the olive oil over the top of each pastry piece, then sprinkle with salt and pepper. Pop the pan in the oven and bake for 12-13 minutes.

From the California Pizza Kitchen Cookbook, with some minor amendments. When the crisp rocket lettuce and tzatziki dip is added to the warm pizza, it's a taste sensation. To make your own tzatziki use Recipe #239744.

BLT SALAD PIZZA

BLT Salad Pizza image

This recipe is sponsored by Target. I'm a big fan of enjoying pizza with a salad on the side and I usually find myself putting the salad ON TOP of my pizza. For this recipe I bake the crust until nice and crispy so it can hold the salad without getting soggy. Then, I top it with mozzarella and Parmesan, and finish with a simple salad of crispy bacon, ripe tomatoes and fresh greens.

Provided by Megan Mitchell

Categories     main-dish

Time 25m

Yield 4 to 6 servings

Number Of Ingredients 10

8 strips bacon, cut into 1-inch pieces
One 5-ounce store-bought thin pizza crust
2 to 3 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil
Kosher salt and freshly cracked black pepper
Eight to ten (1-ounce) slices low-moisture part-skim mozzarella
2 to 3 tablespoons grated Parmesan, plus more for sprinkling
4 cups loosely packed mixed greens
2 cups cherry tomatoes, large quartered, small halved
1/4 cup packed basil leaves, roughly chopped
2 tablespoons red wine vinegar, plus more if needed

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F. Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper. Line a bowl or plate with paper towels.
  • Place the bacon in a 10-inch nonstick skillet over medium heat and cook, stirring occasionally, until golden brown and crispy, 8 to 10 minutes. Remove with a slotted spoon to the prepared bowl or plate.
  • Place the pizza crust on the prepared baking sheet, brush with 1 tablespoon oil and liberally sprinkle with salt and pepper. Bake until crispy, 8 to 10 minutes.
  • Sprinkle the crust with the mozzarella and 2 to 3 tablespoons of Parmesan. Continue to bake until the mozzarella melts, 6 to 8 minutes.
  • Put the bacon, mixed greens, tomatoes and basil in a large bowl. Drizzle with the vinegar and 1 to 2 tablespoons oil. Season with a sprinkle each of salt and pepper. Toss and taste, adding more vinegar or salt if needed.
  • Pile the salad on top of the pizza and finish with a sprinkling of Parmesan and pepper. Cut into slices and serve.

  • If you are cooking on a pizza stone (which I strongly recommend), lightly flour the preheated stone. (If you don’t have a stone, you can use a cookie sheet…but I am telling you…you NEED a pizza stone. They make the bottom of the crust a little crispy and wonderful!)
  • **It is important that I mention that if you make it on a cookie sheet, you should lightly spray the cookie sheet with cooking spray before you press out the dough on the cookie sheet.
  • Using your hands and/or a rolling pin, shape the dough into a flat circle, then place it in the middle of the preheated/pre-floured pizza stone and using a rolling pin or your fingers, gradually press out the dough until it covers the whole pizza stone (be careful…don’t burn yourself!).

BLT PIZZA RECIPE – CHEAP RECIPE BLOG
2020-08-30 The base of this BLT pizza is simple: just crust, tomato sauce, bacon, and mozzarella cheese. The fun part comes in the topping: lettuce and tomato mixed with mayonnaise. While I chose to use my favorite flatbread pizza recipe for the crust, I think this recipe would be even better with a thin or medium crust (to act more like the bread component in the traditional BLT sandwich).
