BLT PASTA SALAD
This is an easy but flavorful pasta salad that I'm always asked to bring to potlucks. With chunks of onion, tomato, and bacon, smothered in Ranch dressing, it is full of flavor! This salad tastes best if made several hours ahead of time.

Steps:
- Bring a large pot of lightly salted water to a boil. Add the pasta, and cook until tender, about 8 minutes. Drain, and rinse under cold water to cool.
- Meanwhile, cook the bacon in a large deep skillet over medium-high heat until browned and crisp. Remove from the pan and drain on paper towels.
- In a large bowl, stir together the Ranch dressing, onion, and tomatoes. Mix in the cooled pasta. The pasta will absorb some of the dressing, so don't worry if it seems like too much. Refrigerate for several hours or overnight. Crumble bacon over the top just before serving.

BLT
The basic classic: bacon, lettuce, and tomato -- nothing fancy, just delicious. (I personally use fake vegetarian bacon these days, and it's still really good!)

CLASSIC BLT SANDWICH
This is a sandwich that I crave a lot. I am just posting it because I couldn't find it posted already on the Zaar...I couldn't believe that! My ex-DH wondered how I make these, so I decided to post it and send him the recipe. Nothing fancy -- just the real, simple, unabridged version. UPDATE: After reading Peg629's review, I have tried it that way, with one slice of toast spread with yellow mustard, and I must say it really, really makes an exceptional BLT! Such a subtle difference, yet genuinely makes a superior BLT, in my opinion! (Thank you Peg629 for that awesome suggestion!)

- Cook the bacon in your preferred manner until crispy (fry, grill, microwave, or oven). I prefer to fry as it makes less mess and the fat gets nicely rendered. Then let it dry on some kitchen paper.
- Slice the tomato thinly. If you wish, toast the bread. Spread both slices of bread with mayo. (If making a triple-decker, then spread three slices). Stack the lettuce, tomato and bacon and bread to suit.

- Lightly toast each slice of bread, and set aside. Slice your tomatoes into thick rounds (a little over 1/4″ thick) and sprinkle them lightly with flaky salt or kosher salt. Set aside.
- Slice the halloumi into ¼” wide strips no longer than your bread. Using a clean tea towel or paper towel, gently pat dry any pools of moisture on the cheese (less water means less splattering). Place the cheese near the stove.
- In a medium skillet (I love to use cast iron) over medium heat, warm the olive oil over medium heat. We want the oil warm enough that a slice of cheese, once added, quickly starts bubbling around the edges. Using kitchen tongs, carefully place slices of halloumi into the hot oil (be careful, the oil can splatter). Leave a little room around each piece of cheese so they don’t stick together (I usually cook the cheese in two batches). I recommend covering the skillet to contain any splatters.
- Cook the cheese until the undersides are deeply golden, about 2 to 4 minutes (if it’s taking forever to brown, raise the heat a bit; if it’s browning very quickly or you catch any whiff of smoke, turn down the heat). Carefully flip each piece of cheese with the tongs, recover the skillet, and cook until the other side is deeply golden, about 2 to 4 minutes.
