BLOODY MARY
Horseradish makes this the best Bloody Mary recipe we've tasted. Without the horseradish, you'll have a more traditional Bloody Mary, and without the alcohol, you'll have a Virgin Mary. Serve with a stalk of celery, dill pickle spear or olives. -Taste of Home Test Kitchen

Steps:
- In a stand mixer fitted with the paddle attachment, cream together butter and sugar on medium-high speed until light and fluffy, about 3 minutes. Add cream cheese and continue mixing, 2 minutes more, scraping down sides of bowl as necessary. Reduce speed to low and add flour, salt, and pepper. Mix until just incorporated.
- Divide dough in half and form into two discs. Wrap tightly in plastic wrap and chill, at least 1 hour and up to overnight.
- Meanwhile, in a medium bowl, stir together cocktail sauce, horseradish, lemon zest, and vodka and set aside.
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Remove chilled dough from refrigerator and allow to temper, 15-30 minutes. Unwrap first disc and transfer to a lightly floured work surface. Lightly flour surface of dough and, using a floured rolling pin, roll out dough to an approximately 14" diameter circle. Using a 12" round cake pan or large bowl as a guide, trim edges of dough to form a neat circle. Repeat with remaining dough.
- Divide cocktail sauce mixture between the two circles and spread into a thin layer over each. Scatter chopped parsley and celery leaves over each and sprinkle with celery salt. Using a pizza cutter, divide each circle into 16 wedges. Starting with the wide edge, roll each wedge into a crescent shape and transfer to two parchment-lined baking sheets, spacing about 2" apart. Transfer cookies to refrigerator and chill, 45 minutes to an hour.
- In a small bowl, whisk together egg and 1 t. water. Remove cookies from refrigerator and brush lightly with egg wash. Sprinkle with additional celery salt and bake, rotating once halfway through, until golden, 25-30 minutes. Allow to cool slightly on baking sheets, 10 minutes, before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

BLOODY MARY CUPCAKES, CAYENNE PEPPER BUTTERCREAM
Steps:
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Line a regular cupcake or muffin pan with 12 cupcake liners.
- Sift the flour, baking powder, salt, 1/4 teaspoon black pepper and cayenne pepper into a medium bowl. Set the bowl aside. In a small bowl, combine the tomato juice, 1/4 cup vodka, lemon juice, hot sauce and Worcestershire sauce. Set the bowl aside. In the bowl of an electric stand mixer with a paddle attachment, cream the butter with the granulated sugar and horseradish sauce, about 5 minutes. Scrape down the sides of the bowl, and then add 1 egg at a time, scraping down the sides of the bowl after each addition. Turn the mixer to the lowest speed and add the flour and tomato juice mixtures, alternating between the two, beginning and ending with the flour. Mix until just combined. Scrape down the sides and mix for 30 seconds.
- Fill the cupcake liners three-quarters full with batter and bake until baked through, 15 to 18 minutes.
- In a small bowl, combine the remaining 2 tablespoons vodka and remaining 1/4 teaspoon black pepper. Use a pastry brush to brush the vodka mixture over the warm cupcakes. Cool the cupcakes completely, about 30 minutes.
- Put the Cayenne Pepper Buttercream into a pastry bag and cut 1/2-inch off the tip. Frost the cupcakes once they are completely cool. Top with your favorite sprinkles or decoration.
- Sift the powdered sugar into a medium bowl. In the bowl of an electric stand mixer with a paddle attachment, cream the butter and celery salt together, about 1 minute. Then add the powdered sugar and milk, alternating between the two. Beat until combined. Scrape the sides of the bowl. Add the lemon juice, vanilla and cayenne pepper. Mix until combined. Then beat the mixture on high until light and fluffy, 5 to 6 minutes.
