PARTYTIME BEANS
A friend brought this colorful bean dish to my house for a church circle potluck dinner. As soon as I tasted the slightly sweet slow-cooked beans, I had to have the recipe. I've served the beans and shared the recipe many times since. -Jean Cantner, Boston, Virginia

Steps:
- In a 5-qt. slow cooker, combine the first 10 ingredients. Stir in the beans and peas. Cover and cook on low for 5-7 hours or until onion and peppers are tender. Discard bay leaves.

My friends mom would always have this on hand when I was around. It is good warm & cold with some tortilla chips. She used to can it as well. It does make a lot!!

- In a large dutch oven, brown beef over med. heat. Drain fat. Add onion & celery, cook until tender. Stir in soup, tomato paste & ketchup, simmer 15-20 minutes. Spoon into large kettle or roaster. Add all remaining ingredients. Stir well. Bake, uncovered, at 350 for 1 hour.

Steps:
- In a large cooking pot brown beef and drain fat.
- Add onions and celery, cooking until tender.
- Add soup, tomato paste and ketchup, simmering for 15- 20 minutes.
- Transfer this mixture to a large roaster and add the remaining ingredients.
- Stir well.
- Bake, covered at 350 degF for about an hour.
- Serve hot.

Stir in the soup, tomato paste and ketchup; simmer, uncovered, 15-20 minutes. Spoon into a large roaster. Stir in the beans, brown sugar and mustard. Bake, uncovered, at 350° for 1 hour. Yield: about 25 servings.

This dish will really surprise you. Its hearty and delicious. Its one of my personal favorites. Goes great with cornbread or biscuits. Rolls would work too. :)
