KIRSTIN'S FAVORITE BLACK CHERRY MARTINI
My wife is a cherry fanatic and loves this martini. It has an excellent cherry flavor and the agave adds a unique sweetness.

Steps:
- Spread sugar over a small plate. Pour lemon juice onto another small plate. Dip the rim of a martini glass in the lemon juice, then into the sugar to coat.
- Fill cocktail shaker with ice. Add vodka, black cherry juice, grapefruit juice, and agave nectar. Cover shaker with lid and shake vigorously until chilled, about 10 seconds. Strain drink into prepared martini glass and garnish with maraschino cherry.

LIME COCKTAIL WITH WATERMELON ICE CUBES

- For the watermelon ice cubes: Puree the watermelon, honey and lime juice in a blender until smooth. Pour into a square ice cube tray. Freeze until firm, 3 to 4 hours.
- For the simple syrup: Combine the sugar and 3/4 cup water in a small saucepan. Bring to a simmer and shut off the heat. Stir until the sugar dissolves. Cool.
- For the cocktails: Mix the vodka, lime juice, mint leaves and 2 ounces simple syrup in a pitcher filled with ice. Top with club soda. Put 3 watermelon cubes in each of 2 highball glasses and pour the cocktail over.
FLAVOR BOMB CUBES
Steps:
- Combine the olive oil, parsley, salt, red pepper flakes, black pepper, garlic and lemon zest in a blender and blend for about 30 seconds. Pour into an ice cube tray and freeze.
- Defrost the cubes and add to sauteed or roasted vegetables or roasted or boiled potatoes. Drizzle the defrosted cubes over cooked steak, or use to marinate chicken or shrimp.

- Fill an ice cube tray with water; add 1 drop liquid smoke to each cube and freeze until firm. Combine 2 cups chilled black cherry soda, 1/2 cup chilled vodka, the juice of 2 limes and a few dashes of chipotle hot sauce in a pitcher. Fill 4 glasses with the smoked ice cubes; pour in the cocktail and garnish with lime twists.

- Heat your grill to a medium-low temperature so that the wood or pellets begin to smoke and set the grill up for indirect heat.
- Add 8 cups of water to each foil pan. I suggest using a measuring cup or pitcher to pour the water into the pans directly onto the grill to prevent sloshing water on the grates.
- Close the lid and allow the water to infuse with smoke for 25-30 minutes. Once he water has smoked, I turn off my grill (close your dampers and keep the lid closed if using a charcoal grill) and allow the pans to cool before pouring into the cube mold.
