- In a large bowl, combine egg, milk, oil, applesauce and sugar. Sift flour, baking powder, salt and cinnamon together; add all at once with Cheddar cheese to egg mixture.
- Stir only until flour mixture is moistened (batter will be lumpy). Divide batter among 12 greased muffin cups. (Cups will be more than 2/3 full).
- Bake at 400 F for about 20 minutes or until wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean.
- Let cool in muffin pan 5 minutes. Run knife around outer edges of each muffin; turn out onto rack to cool completely.

- Heat oven to 350°F. Lightly spray 12 regular-size muffin cups with cooking spray.
- In large bowl, stir together bacon, apple, cheese, onion, sage and salt. In medium bowl, stir together Bisquick® mix, milk and eggs with fork until well blended.
- Spoon slightly less than 1 tablespoonful Bisquick mixture into bottom of each muffin cup. Top each with about 1/4 cup bacon mixture. Top with remaining Bisquick® mixture.
- Bake 20 to 30 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean and edges are golden. Cool 5 minutes in pan; transfer to cooling rack to cool slightly before serving.
