Ingredients

2 sticks butter, softened
1 1/2 cups sugar
3 egg yolks
1 tsp. vanilla
2 1/2 cups plain flour
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. baking soda
1/8 tsp. salt
1/3 tsp. ground cloves
2 Tbsp. buttermilk
4 cups chopped pecans, walnuts, etc.
1 lb. chopped dates

Steps:

Cream butter and sugar together. Add yolks and beat well. Add vanilla and stir. In a separate bowl, sift together flour, cinnamon, baking soda, salt and cloves. Mix together all ingredients except nuts and dates. Then add nut and dates. Roll about a teaspoonful in a ball and slightly flatten. Put on a greased cookie sheet and bake at 325 degrees for 15-20 minutes. Note - No real billy goats were used in the making of this recipe.
