BEST MOIST APPLE CAKE
Best apple cake we've ever eaten. I've taken three recipes and combined them to create what my family now requests for birthdays! We think the cake is better once it sits for awhile. Even refrigerated and then heated back up, the flavors seem to really stand out. You can substitute pecans for the walnuts.

Steps:
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
- Whisk all-purpose flour, whole wheat flour, baking soda, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon together in a bowl. Whisk oil, white sugar, 1/2 cup brown sugar, eggs, and vanilla together in a separate bowl. Stir flour mixture into sugar mixture; fold apples and 1 1/2 cups walnuts into batter. Pour batter into a 10x13-inch baking dish.
- Bake in the preheated oven until cake is set, about 1 hour. Pierce surface of cake in several places with a large fork.
- Stir brown sugar, butter, and milk together in a large microwave-safe bowl. Microwave on high until sugar is dissolved and mixture boils, about 2 1/2 minutes. Sprinkle 1/2 cup walnuts over hot cake and pour brown sugar mixture over the top.

BEST APPLE CAKE EVER
Steps:
- Preheat oven to 325 degrees. Grease and flour a 12-cup Bundt pan and set aside.
- In a large bowl, sift together flour, baking soda, cinnamon, nutmeg and salt. Sift two additional times and set aside.
- In the bowl of a stand mixer, combine oil and both sugars, and mix until well blended.
- Add eggs one at a time, mixing thoroughly after each addition. Add vanilla and mix again.
- Add the sifted dry ingredients to the batter and mix thoroughly. By hand, fold in apples and walnuts and mix until evenly combined.
- Spoon the batter into the prepared bundt pan. Bake for 1 hour and 15 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the cake comes out clean.
- Remove cake from the oven and allow to cool in the bundt pan for 20 minutes.
- While the cake is cooling, prepare the glaze. In a saucepan, over medium heat, combine all of the glaze ingredients. Bring to a boil and allow the mixture to boil for 1 minute.
- Remove the cake from the pan, onto a serving plate. Spoon the glaze over the warm cake.
- Cool for a little longer before serving.

This is my DH favorite cake, I have tried many apple cakes over the years and this is a winner!! So moist and dense, with a caramel taste, cannot say enough, just try it and see.

Steps:
- In a large bowl combine flour, sugar, soda and salt. Make a well in the center and set aside.
- In a medium bowl combine eggs, oil, apple juice and vanilla. Stir in apples and nuts. Add the egg mixture to dry ingredients, just until moistened.
- Spread batter in a greased and floured 9 x 13-inch pan. Bake at 350°F for 45-50 minutes.
- In a small saucepan combine the brown sugar, butter and cream.
- Cook and stir till bubbly and all of the sugar is dissolved. Cool slightly. Drizzle warm sauce over cake, when it has cooled for 5 minutes, so it can seep into the cake, keeping it moist.

This tastes very much like an apple pie only in cake form. It's absolutely my favorite apple cake recipe ever. Delicious served with ice cream or whipped topping.

Steps:
- Preheat oven to 350°F
- Grease and flour a 12-cup bundt pan.
- Mix the apples, 5 tablespoons sugar and ground cinnamon in a large bowl.
- Combine 2 1/2 cups sugar, eggs, vegetable oil, orange juice, orange peel and vanilla extract in another large bowl; whisk to blend.
- Stir flour, baking powder and salt into egg mixture.
- Spoon 1 1/2 cups batter into prepared bundt pan.
- Top with half of apple mixture.
- Cover with 1 1/2 cups batter.
- Top with remaining apples, then with remaining batter.
- Bake cake in preheated oven until top is golden brown and tester inserted near center comes out with moist crumbs attached, about 1 hour 30 minutes.
- Cool cake in pan on wire rack for 15 minutes.
- Run knife around sides of pan and center tube to loosen.
- Turn cake out onto rack.
- Cool for 1 hour.
- Dust cake with confectioners' sugar.
- Serve slightly warm or at room temperature with a scoop of vanilla ice cream, non-dairy whipped topping or whipped cream.
- Store any leftover cake covered at room temperature.

This is a friend's recipe that she made for me every year on my birthday. It's a lot of work, I won't lie, but it's really really REALLY good. (just ignore the nutrition information!)

Steps:
- Preheat oven 300~.
- Mix in bowl the first 3 ingredients: apples, sugar, and cinnamon and set aside.
- Mix in another bowl the next 3 ingredients: eggs, oil, sugar, and vanilla together; then add flour until mixed well.
- Grease and flour angel food cake pan.
- Add half batter, then apples mixture and then rest of batter.
- Bake for 1 1/2 hours, (do not open oven door for first 1 1/2 hours of baking). If after 1 1/2 hours if it is still not done, bake for another 15 minutes.
- Cool then flip it onto cake plate.
