Steps:
- Mix the jello mix with two cups (16 ounces) of boiling water until the powder is fully dissolved and add the malt liquor. The cold water called for by the recipe on the box is replaced by the malt liquor.
- Pour the mixture into either shot glasses or paper cups. Shot glasses are more attractive, but the paper cups are easier to eat from.

JELLO SHOTS: ROOT BEER FLOAT
I love to create new surprises for our neighborhood gatherings, so this is one that I've made in the past, but the most recent that I've posted. I think that they may be made non-alcoholic by using more flattened root beer to replace the schnapps and vodka and adding a drop of vanilla extract (but I've never tried). *NOTE: Prep time includes cooling and refrigeration time. I hope you enjoy them.

Steps:
- In a small saucepan, pour in the flattened root beer and then sprinkle the unflavored gelatin over the top. DO NOT STIR and DO NOT HEAT. Allow to sit for 2-3 minutes.
- Whisk pan ingredients together and place the pan over medium heat and bring to a boil while stirring frequently to make sure that the gelatin dissolves. Remove from heat.
- Allow to cool to room temperature.
- In the meantime, line up shot glasses on a sheet pan.
- Once cooled, add the root beer schnapps and vanilla vodka. Stir/whisk until well combined.
- Pour the mix into little, plastic shot glass cups and place sheet pan into the refrigerator for at least 4 hours, until firm.
- Top each shot with just a tiny squirt of whipping cream, if desired.
- Enjoy!

Steps:
- Pour 1/2 cup of the beer in a medium bowl. Sprinkle the gelatin over the beer and let it dissolve, about 1 minute.
- Combine the granulated sugar and remaining 1 1/2 cups beer in a small saucepan. Heat over low heat until the sugar dissolves and the liquid is steaming but not boiling. Pour over the dissolved gelatin and stir to melt the gelatin completely. Strain the mixture into a spouted measuring cup and pour into 16 shot glasses. Refrigerate until set, about 2 hours.
- When ready to serve, whip the cream and confectioners' sugar with an electric mixer in a medium bowl to form soft peaks. Whisk in the tequila and lime zest. Dollop the tequila-lime whipped cream on top of the beer shots to resemble the foam head on a beer. Garnish the sides of the glasses with lime wedges.

- If using a flexible silicone mold, prepare the mold by spraying lightly with cooking spray, and then wiping the cavities clean with a paper towel. This will result in a very slight residue which will help unmold the jello shots without affecting their taste or appearance. If setting in a pan, no prep is needed!
- Pour root beer into a saucepan and sprinkle with gelatin. Allow to soak for a few minutes. Heat on low, stirring constantly, until gelatin is fully dissolved (about 5 minutes). Remove from heat.

- Stir and combine Jagermeister and cherry limeade. Pour half of mixture into a small saucepan and sprinkle 1 envelope of gelatin on top. Set aside for 1- 2 minutes for gelatin to bloom. Place pan over low heat stirring constantly until gelatin has dissolved (mixture will resemble syrup consistency), about 3-5 minutes. Stir in remaining 3/4 cup of mixture until combined. Pour into mold and chill for at least 30 minutes or until slightly set. In the meantime, open beer and pour into a shallow bowl to flatten some of the carbonation while the Jagermeister portion chills.

- Lightly spray your shot vessel with non-stick cooking spray. (I used a silicon 1-ounce ice cube tray, but you can also use a mini muffin tin, plastic ice cube tray, or even a sheet pan.) Wipe out any excess collected spray with a paper towel.
- Sprinkle the gelatin over the surface of the liquid and let it sit for 5 minutes to “bloom.” Basically, it will soften and form a film on the top of the liquid that looks sort of wrinkled.
- Warm the mixture over medium-low heat for 1-2 minutes, stirring constantly until the gelatin is fully dissolved. Do NOT let the mixture boil, people!!! If you’re unsure whether or not the gelatin is dissolved, rub the liquid between your fingers. If it feels slipper and smooth with no grains of gelatin, it’s done.
