- Cut smoked sausage into 1 inch pieces and brown lightly in skillet.
- Combine vegetable soup with sausage and place shredded cabbage over the top. Place lid on skillet and let cook on medium heat until cabbage is tender. Stir together and serve.

- Combine water, tomato juice, lentils, beer, onion, carrot, thyme, rosemary, garlic powder, pepper, and bay leaf in a large saucepan. Bring to a boil.
- Reduce heat, cover, and simmer for 15 minutes. Stir in sweet potatoes and sausage. Cover and simmer until potatoes are tender, 30 to 35 minutes. Remove bay leaf before serving.

- Cook bacon in a large skillet over medium heat until just crisping around the edges. Remove from skillet, slice in half width-wise and set aside on paper towels. Reserve bacon grease.

- Cut the andouille sausage in just over half inch thick circles. Rinse the lentils, remove any impurities. Dice the onion, carrots, celery and garlic.
