1 pound ground beef
1 (10.75 ounce) can Campbell's® Condensed Tomato Soup (Regular or 25% Less Sodium)
½ cup salsa
½ cup water
6 (6 inch) flour tortillas, cut into 1-inch pieces
½ cup shredded Cheddar cheese

Steps:

  • Cook beef in 10-inch skillet until well browned, stirring to break up meat. Pour off fat.
  • Stir in soup, salsa, water, tortillas. Heat to a boil. Reduce heat to low and cook for 5 minutes Stir. Top with cheese.

When I was running late one night, a go-to recipe of my mom's popped into my head. Now it's one of my husband's favorites. It's also a fast answer to unexpected company. -Patricia Swart, Galloway, New Jersey

Number Of Ingredients 11

2 medium red onions, divided
1/2 cup soft bread crumbs
3/4 teaspoon salt-free seasoning blend
1/2 teaspoon pepper
Dash ground nutmeg
1 pound lean ground beef (90% lean)
1 teaspoon cornstarch
1 teaspoon reduced-sodium beef bouillon granules
1/2 cup cold water
2 teaspoons butter
1-1/2 cups sliced fresh mushrooms

Steps:

  • Thinly slice 1-1/2 onions; finely chop remaining onion half. In a large bowl, toss bread crumbs with chopped onion and seasonings. Add beef; mix lightly but thoroughly. Shape into four 1/2-in.-thick oval patties., Place a lightly oiled large nonstick skillet over medium heat. Add patties; cook 5-6 minutes on each side or until a thermometer reads 160°. Remove from pan. Discard drippings from pan., In a small bowl, mix cornstarch, bouillon and water until smooth. In same skillet, heat butter over medium-high heat. Add mushrooms and sliced onions; cook and stir 5-7 minutes or until onions are tender., Stir in cornstarch mixture. Bring to a boil; cook and stir 1-2 minutes or until thickened. Return Salisbury steaks to pan, turning to coat with sauce; heat through.

1/2 lb lean beef cut into strips
1 onion (sliced)
1 green pepper (sliced)
1 cup celery
1 cup cut green beans
4 oz sliced mushrooms
8 t cornstarch
2 T soy sauce
1 1/2 cup water

Steps:

  • Brown beef in 2 T of oil. Add in onion, green pepper, celery, green beans and mushrooms. Cook until beans are tender. Dissolve cornstarch in soy sauce and water. Add to skillet and cook for about 10 minutes. Garnish with pimiento. Serve over rice or noodles.
