PHILLY CHEESE STEAK WRAPS



Philly Cheese Steak Wraps image

Tender juicy beef, caramelized onions and crisp green bell peppers all smothered in melted provolone cheese and wrapped in a soft flatbread make the perfect lunch or easy dinner!

1 ribeye steak (approximately ¾ pound)
2 tablespoons olive oil
2 small green bell peppers (sliced)
1 large (or 2 small white onion, sliced)
salt & pepper to taste
2 cloves garlic (minced)
6 oz provolone cheese
Flatout flatbread (either light or regular)

Steps:

  • Place steak in the freezer for 30-60 minutes. Remove from freezer and slice as thinly as possible.
  • Heat a cast iron skillet (or large pan) over medium-high heat.
  • Add 1 tablespoon olive oil, peppers, onion, salt & pepper and stir until browned and tender. Push off to one side.
  • Add remaining olive oil, thinly sliced beef, salt & pepper. Cook about 2 minutes or until almost no pink remains. Add garlic, stir in peppers and onions and cook 1 minute more.
  • Top the beef mixture with cheese and cover until melted (about 1 minute).
  • Place ¼ of the mixture on each flatbread, roll and enjoy!

2 tablespoons cream cheese, softened
2 tablespoons mayonnaise
1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon chili powder
1/8 teaspoon cayenne pepper
4 flour tortillas (10 inches), warmed
4 leaf lettuce leaves
1/2 pound thinly sliced deli roast beef
8 thin slices tomato
4 slices red onion, separated into rings

Steps:

  • In a small bowl, beat the cream cheese, mayonnaise, cumin, salt, chili powder and cayenne until smooth. Spread 1 tablespoon on one side of each tortilla; top with lettuce, roast beef, tomato and onion; roll up tightly. Cut on a diagonal.

1 (8 ounce) package Philadelphia Cream Cheese, softened
1/2 cup onion, sliced
1/2 green bell pepper, chopped
1/2 red pepper, chopped
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded
1/4 cup mayonnaise
6 large flour tortillas
1 lb low-sodium deli roast beef, thinly sliced

Steps:

  • Blend together cream cheese, sliced onions and peppers, Worcestershire sauce, Mozzarella cheese and mayonnaise.
  • Spread the cream cheese mixture over entire surface of flour tortilla.
  • Place five or six thin slices of beef on half of the tortilla, then roll up.
  • Refrigerate for 1 hour. Cut in half on the diagonal and serve cold.

1 lb. flank steak
1 tbsp. extra-virgin olive oil
kosher salt
Freshly ground black pepper
1 white or red onion, thinly sliced
1 green bell pepper, thinly sliced
8 slices provolone
4 large whole wheat tortilla wraps

Steps:

  • Preheat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Brush steak with oil and season with salt and pepper on both sides. Cook steak until pink just disappears in the middle, 6 to 8 minutes on each side. Transfer to a cutting board and let rest, 5 minutes.
  • Meanwhile, in the same skillet, cook onions and peppers until tender, 2 to 3 minutes. Reduce heat to medium-low. Thinly slice steak across the grain and transfer back to skillet. Top with provolone and cover until cheese is melty, 2 to 3 minutes.
  • Fill tortillas with steak mixture, wrap tightly, and serve.

1 medium yellow onion, sliced
8 ounces fresh mushrooms, sliced
1 lb laura's 92% lean ground beef or 1 lb 96% lean ground beef
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon pepper
1/4 teaspoon pepper sauce
6 ounces reduced-fat provolone cheese, sliced thin
6 98% fat free tortillas

Steps:

  • In a large nonstick skillet over medium heat, cook onions and mushrooms until onions are almost transparent. Stir frequently, and cover the skillet in between to retain moisture.
  • Add ground beef, salt, pepper and pepper sauce. Crumble ground beef as you brown.
  • Heat tortillas according to package instructions.
  • Divide beef mixture between tortilla shells. Top with cheese. Wrap and serve.
  • Cooking Tips: If your taste buds enjoy a little heat, add even more pepper sauce.
