Special enough that guests will think that you've really gone all out for them and easy enough that you can make then frequently for the family. It makes 12 biscuit squares but the men and teens will eat 2.

Steps:
- Heat oven to 425 degrees.
- Mix marmalade and butter.
- Spread in 8 inch x 8 inch baking pan.
- Stir baking mix and water to a soft dough.
- Knead about 5 times on floured surface.
- Roll dough into an 8 inch square, place on marmalade mixture.
- Pat dough into the corners and cut into 12 squares. Bake 15 to 20 minutes (or until golden and tester comes out clean).
- Invert pan on serving plate and serve warm.

BED AND BREAKFAST CRANBERRY BISCUITS
These are a favorite at Hidden Falls, a Canadian Bed and Breakfast in Canmore, Alberta. They stay soft and moist!

Steps:
- Preheat oven to 375*F.
- Combine yogurt and egg in a small bowl. Set aside.
- In large bowl, stir together flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt. Cut in margarine until it looks like small peas.
- Stir in cranberries (or craisins), sugar and orange rind.
- Add yogurt/egg mix and stir to a soft dough. (it may seem a bit dry, but be careful about adding extra yogurt as it goes wet very easily).
- Roll or pat on floured surface to 3/4 inch thick, and then cut in circles, place on parchment paper on ungreased cookie sheet and bake 15-20 minutes.
- While still warm, brush tops with melted butter and dust with powdered sugar. Serve them with butter and jams on the side. Enjoy!

My husband and I spent our anniversary at a bed and breakfast; the owner there fancied herself quite the cook,and we were NOT let down. I floated all day on her french toast recipe and am SO glad she shared it with me!

Steps:
- 1. in a mixing bowl add all ingerdients except butter and bread. Mix well!
- 2. In a medium hot skillet melt half the butter, just as it is beginning to brown, dip your bread in your egg mixture and drop into pan. (non stick is best)
- 3. when french toast is golden brown on one side, flip and cook til golden on the other side.
- 4. warmed (in the microwave) powdered sugar and Grand mariner (thin icing) makes a GREAT "syrup" for this. And the hint of orange from the Grand Mariner is PERFECT.

- In a medium bowl whisk together flour, baking powder, sugar, salt and cranberries. Slowly add the cream and mix just until moistened.
- Move the dough to a lightly floured flat surface and gently bring the dough together, kneading gently 3-4 times. Pat the dough into a circle about 1 inch thick, either cut it into 6-8 triangles or cut out 6 circles with a round cutter. Place on prepared pan about an inch apart and brush with melted butter. Bake for 15-18 minutes. Let cool or serve warm. Enjoy!
