COPYCAT BURGER AND FRIES
With gooey, melty cheese on a double burger with browned and crusty bits, plus fresh, crunchy toppings and a soft, steamy bun served alongside golden fries, this is pretty darn close to the real thing served at that restaurant chain run by those five brothers. Make these burgers and fries at home and save lots of money while satisfying your fast food cravings. Serve the fries with malt vinegar and enjoy with a cold beer... you can't get that at the restaurant!

Steps:
- Cut potatoes in 1/2-inch wide strips. Place in a large bowl filled with warm water and soak for 20 minutes.
- Pour oil in a Dutch oven and heat over medium-high heat until it reaches 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Line a rimmed baking sheet with paper towels and set a wire rack on top.
- Drain potatoes well and dry thoroughly with paper towels. Add 1/2 of the dried potatoes to the hot oil and cook, stirring often, until they soften slightly, about 3 minutes. Remove potatoes to the wire rack to drain. Repeat with remaining potatoes. Maintain oil temperature at 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) for finishing fries just before serving.
- Divide ground chuck into 4 portions and flatten to form 1/4-inch thick patties.
- Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add burger patties to the hot skillet and cook undisturbed, until a brown crust has formed around the edges, 2 to 3 minutes. Flip, press down with a spatula to flatten, and cook for 2 more minutes. Flip again, press down once more, then top each patty with a slice of cheese; cook for 1 minute.
- While the burgers cook, spread mustard and ketchup on bottom halves of the buns. Drizzle hot sauce on the top halves of the buns, then spread mayonnaise over top. Layer with lettuce, tomato slices, pickles, and onions.
- Invert 1 patty onto a second patty so the cheese sides are touching. Repeat with remaining 2 patties. Place a stacked patty onto each top bun, and cover with a bottom bun, condiment-side down. Wrap burgers in foil.
- Return fries to the hot oil and cook until golden brown, 3 to 4 minutes. Drain on paper towels and sprinkle with salt. Serve immediately with burgers.

BBQ CHICKEN WAFFLE FRIES
This is one of those dishes that sounds so wrong but tastes so right! Trust me-barbecue chicken leftovers are fantastic with the fries. We like it with lettuce, tomato and pickle, but you can add almost any toppings you like. -Janet Telleen, Russell, Iowa

BURGER KING CHICKEN FRIES
Burger King's Whopper has always been my favorite. Now I have 2 favorites! Here is a great recipe, very close to Burger Kings Chicken Fries! I found this "copykat" on the net and after trying it, I'm very happy with it. Easy to make and you can throw it together fast with a crisp salad, and for the times that you have a little extra time, some corn on the cob will work nicely. You can use a little cayenne into the flour to spice it up.

- Heat grill to medium-high heat. Alternatively, heat a nonstick skillet or grill pan over medium-high heat. Brush the grill grates or pan with oil to keep the burgers from sticking.
- Place the ground chicken into a large mixing bowl and add the salt, pepper, garlic powder, ¼ cup barbecue sauce, and diced cheese. Mix together until just combined and ingredients are evenly distributed, being careful to not overmix the chicken.
- Divide the meat mixture into 4 equal portions and shape it into patties that are slightly larger than the bottom of a hamburger bun. Place a thumbprint into the middle of each burger, to help prevent shrinkage and even cooking.
- Grill or cook for 5 minutes. Flip the burgers, and continue to cook for 5-7 minutes, or until the chicken burgers reach 160 degrees F.

- Grill or broil the chicken thighs with 1 1/2 cups barbecue sauce. See this chicken recipe for oven-broiling instructions. When the chicken has finished cooking, let it cool for at least 5 minutes before chopping into 1/2-inch to 3/4-inch pieces. Drizzle the chopped chicken with the remaining barbecue sauce, to make it nice and saucy.
- While the chicken is cooking on the grill, or while it is cooling from the oven, heat the oven to the manufacturer's suggested temperature (usually 425°F) and cook your french fries. Stir once or twice to ensure they are crispy all around.
- Remove the fries from the oven, top with chopped chicken and sprinkle cheese curds evenly across the pan. Place back in the hot oven for 5-6 minutes, until the cheese has melted. Sprinkle with green onions before serving. Enjoy!
