1 cup rolled oats
2 cups water
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 tablespoon honey
1 cup applesauce

Steps:

  • Place 3/4 cup of the rolled oats into a blender and process until a flour.
  • Add all rolled oats, water, cinnamon and vanilla to pan and bring to a boil.
  • Reduce heat and cook for 3 minutes.
  • Add honey and applesauce and stir for 1 minute.
  • Add to bowls.
  • Enjoy.

1 ½ cups quick cooking oats
2 cups basic cookie mix
1 egg
¾ cup butter
¼ cup cold water
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
½ teaspoon almond extract

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (180 degrees C).
  • Stir oats into Basic Cookie Mix. Lightly beat egg and add to mixture. Melt butter or margarine over low heat and stir in. Add cold water, vanilla and almond extract. Mix well.
  • Spoon into a greased 13 x 9 inch pan. Bake for about 30 to 35 minutes until top is golden. Cool and cut into bars.

2 medium tart apples, chopped
1-1/2 cups old-fashioned oats
Dash salt
1/4 cup packed brown sugar
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/4 cup chopped almonds
Optional: Maple syrup and fat-free milk

Steps:

  • In a large saucepan over medium heat, bring water to a boil. Add apples, oats and salt; cook and stir for 5 minutes. , Remove from the heat; stir in brown sugar, cinnamon and vanilla. Cover and let stand for 2 minutes. Sprinkle each serving with almonds. If desired, serve with syrup and milk.
