SLOW COOKER BAR-B-Q PARTY MIX
When you're planning a party, and your oven is going to be full, try this party mix in the slow cooker. Tastes as good but doesn't take up oven space! You may make a larger batch, but cooking time will need to be increased. If you like your bar-b-que party mix more bar-b-q-y, try increasing the liquid by 1/2 or double. Keep in mind that doing this may increase cooking time. Serve immediately or store in air tight containers.

SPICY SWEET HONEY BARBECUE CHEX PARTY MIX
This is the best Chex Party Mix you'll ever make. Honey, BBQ, and spicy Frank's hot sauce collide in this delicious and crunchy gluten-free* snack mix. (makes 6 cups)

Steps:
- Preheat your oven to 300 degrees F. Line two baking sheets with parchment or foil, sprayed with nonstick spray. In a jar, or small bowl, combine the BBQ sauce, honey, oil, Frank's hot sauce, Worcestershire sauce, paprika, garlic and onion. Apply the lid (if using a jar) and shake vigorously to combine (if combining in a bowl, just stir very well). In a large, gallon-sized zip-top bag, combine the cereals and pretzels (you could do this in a very large bowl, but the zip-top bag method is easy and provides for easy cleanup.). Pour the sauce into the bag. Ensure the bag is closed completely then carefully shake and turn the bag until all of the cereal and pretzels are coated with sauce. Spread the mix over the prepared baking sheets. Bake for 30-35 minutes, using a silicone spatula to stir the mix every 10 minutes (keep an eye on it during the last few minutes because it can become very dark brown very quickly). When it's dark brown and glossy, remove the Chex Mix from the oven. Lay paper towels out on the counter and scoop the Chex Mix onto the paper towels to cool (this also helps absorb any excess oils). When it is cooled, transfer to a large bowl to enjoy!

- Pineapple Rosé Sangria. Not a big fan of sangria? Bored of traditional red wine sangria and want to give the classic drink a twist? Whatever your reason for changing it up, this version is guaranteed to pique everyone's pallet.
- Strawberry Wine Punch. Let's be honest, sometimes you want a wine punch instead of a liquor-based one. Wine punches are the best drink recipes for those long days in the sun where hours sipping on vodka is probably not the best idea.
- Watermelon Hibiscus Lime Margarita. In today's world, a margarita is no longer just lime juice and tequila. It is anything but. However, with all the flavor competition from blood oranges and wine cocktails, it is hard to find those hidden gems that make margaritas not weird, but wonderful.
- Strawberry Pimm's Cup. This pitcher recipe is an adaptation of a famous United Kingdom cocktail that combines Pimm's with fresh fruit that makes for a great snack while you're sipping away.
- Apple Cider Rum Punch. By the time summer actually rolls around, most of us are fantasizing about that season in which we can drink warm mugs of cider cozied up in our sweaters.
- Ginger Beer-Pineapple-Rum Punch. Pineapple juice makes it a little bit sweet, and ginger beer a little bit spicy, and a lot a bit on the edge. Just the way a summer romance should be.
- Blueberry Lavender Vodka Spritzer. This cocktail has the simplicity of a backyard BBQ and the sophistication of a day at the races. So whatever you want to do, if you invite this cocktail and some friends along, it's sure to be a fun ride.
- Vodka Mint Limeade. Limeade is a classic summer drink. Tart, tangy, and just the right amount of sweet, it provides relief even on sweltering days. Add a little vodka to the mix and you just might forget about the sunburn, too.
- Strawberry Blood Orange Rum Punch. Layered with as much color as a Negroni, this fruity rum punch will have you ready to celebrate. Bursting with citrus and infused by strawberries, this cocktail will make your guests feel like they're sipping on a summertime sunset.
- Strawberry Ginger Punch. Ginger is a wonderful addition to any summer punch. It's strong, spicy flavor compliments the sweetness of cocktails to give the perfect balance of heat and sweet to keep you cool.

BACKYARD BBQ PARTY GUIDE AND FOOD SUGGESTIONS
From thespruceeats.com
- Planning Your Cookout. The BBQ is a great American tradition, where food is cooked outside, shared, and eaten in a most casual of fashions, whether a gathering in a backyard, a park, the beach—even a parking lot or a rooftop.
- Steaks. Because of their hefty price tag, steaks are not at every BBQ party, but people sure do get excited when they see cuts of beef sizzling on the grill.
- Burgers. When cooking burgers on the grill, the golden rule is to leave them alone. Don't flip them over and over, and definitely don't squash them with the spatula—when you press down on the meat, you're pressing out the juiciness.
- Pork. Real BBQ is a regional thing. What flies in North Carolina (some form of pork) won't look even remotely familiar in Texas, where beef brisket is usually slow-cooking on the grill.
- Hot Dogs and Sausages. Hot dogs are always a favorite at BBQ parties, but after the first few cookouts of the season, they can get a bit tiresome. For a change of pace, pop bratwurst on the grill, set up a condiment station, and a basket of buns, and call your work over.
- Chicken. Chicken is usually a safe bet when it comes to feeding a crowd, but too often grilled chicken gets overcooked (for fear of serving it uncooked) and dry.
- Kebabs. Kebabs provide a great way to feed a crowd with minimal fuss (especially if you have some small hands around that will help thread the skewers).
- Fish. Something about live fire and fresh fish is magical. While a whole side of salmon on the grill is a visually stunning delight and easy to cook (just put it skin-down, cover the grill, and remove when cooked—there is absolutely no need to flip it!)
- Shellfish. You may not think of grilling shellfish, but this cooking method is actually ideal for this type of seafood. Their shells protect their sweet insides from the heat, the fire adds flavor, and cooking them outside minimizes the mess.
- Coleslaw. A ubiquitous side dish on any barbecue buffet table, coleslaw is classically made with hearty green cabbage and a creamy dressing. When eaten alongside grilled meats, it seems as if it were made for summertime cookouts.
