A favorite combination of mine I invented in high school, something different from the same old strawberry and banana. Substitute vanilla extract for the honey for a different taste.

⅓ cup frozen pitted cherries
1 teaspoon honey, or to taste

1 cup cherries (frozen)
½ banana
1 cup almond milk
1/4 cup walnuts
1 tablespoon hemp seeds
1 teaspoon Ceylon cinnamon
Dash of ground cloves (optional)
Toppings: (cacao nibs or choped dark chocolate)

Steps:

  • Add all ingredients in the blender. Note: add wet ingredients first for easier blending.
  • Mix everything at high speed until you get a smooth silky texture.
  • If the smoothie is too thick, add a little more liquid - milk or water. Blend again until everything is well combined.
  • Taste the smoothie and add additional sweetener if the smoothie is not sweet enough to your taste. (See "Recipe tips" section for sweetener recommendation)
  • Transfer the smoothie into a smoothie glass.
  • ADD TOPPINGS: I used cacao nibs. Be creative here and add toppings you like.
  • Serve and enjoy!

1 cup of frozen cherries
1 large ripe banana (frozen or fresh)
1 tablespoon of peanut butter
1 teaspoon of cocoa powder
½ cup to ¾ cup of plant-based milk

Steps:

  • In a high-speed blender, combine the frozen cherries, banana, peanut butter, cocoa powder, and plant-based milk, and blend until it's completely smooth. Start with ½ cup of milk and if you want a thinner smoothie, add the remaining ¼ cup.
  • Note: If you're using a standard blender (instead of a high-speed blender), start with the milk and ¼ cup of the cherries and slowly add in the rest of the ingredients. It'll be easier on your blender.
