Baked Sausage Patties image

Cooking breakfast sausage patties in the oven is an easy way to cook a larger amount of sausage for breakfast without cooking in batches like the stovetop.

1 lb+ breakfast sausage patties

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 400F and move the oven rack to the center position.
  • For easy clean-up, cover a baking sheet with parchment paper or foil.
  • Place the sausage patties in a single layer on the baking sheet leaving space in between the patties.
  • Bake the sausage patties for a total of 18+ minutes, flipping them over around half-way through cooking (after 8-9 minutes).
  • Cook the sausage until the internal temperature reaches at least 160F+, which is easy to test with a digital cooking thermometer. Enjoy!

puff pastry
1 (8 ounce) can baked beans
1/2 lb pork sausage or 1/2 lb sausage meat

Steps:

  • roll out the pastry and cut into circles.
  • add 1 tsp baked beans and 1 tsp pork sausage.
  • fold the pastry in half and spread some butter or a beaten egg on top.
  • bake in a moderate over for 15 minute.

3 ½ cups all-purpose flour, sifted
1 ½ teaspoons salt
1 cup shortening
1 cup cold water
1 pound boneless round or chuck steak, cut into 1-inch cubes
2 potatoes, peeled and cubed
1 onion, chopped
¼ rutabaga, cubed
1 carrots, diced
salt and pepper to taste
6 tablespoons margarine

Steps:

  • In a large bowl, combine flour and salt. Cut in shortening until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Stir in water until mixture forms a ball. Shape into a ball. Wrap in plastic and refrigerate.
  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • In a large bowl, combine meat, potatoes, onion, rutabaga and chopped carrots. Season with salt and pepper. Divide dough into six pieces, and shape into balls. On a lightly floured surface, roll each ball into a 6 inch round. Place approximately 1 cup filling on one half of each. Dot each with 1 tablespoon margarine. Draw the other half of the pastry over the filling. Crimp edges to seal in filling. Prick with a fork and place on prepared baking sheet.
  • Bake in preheated oven for 1 hour.

1-1/2 pounds bulk spicy pork sausage
1 medium green pepper, chopped
1 medium onion, chopped
1 can (31 ounces) pork and beans
1 can (16 ounces) kidney beans, rinsed and drained
1 can (15-1/2 ounces) great northern beans, rinsed and drained
1 can (15-1/2 ounces) black-eyed peas, rinsed and drained
1 can (15 ounces) pinto beans, rinsed and drained
1 can (15 ounces) chickpeas, rinsed and drained
1-1/2 cups ketchup
3/4 cup packed brown sugar
2 teaspoons ground mustard

Steps:

  • In a large skillet, cook and crumble sausage over medium heat until no longer pink; drain. Add green pepper and onion; saute until tender. Drain. Add remaining ingredients., Pour into a greased 13x9-in. baking dish. Cover and bake at 325° for 1 hour. Uncover; bake 20-30 minutes longer or until bubbly.

4 cups diced pork shoulder
2 cups diced beef rump
1 onion
1 cup rutabaga
6 cups flour
2 cups Butter Flavor Crisco
1 dash salt
1/2 cup cold water

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350.
  • add the salt the flour and mix.
  • slowly add the cold water until the dough is able to be rolled.
  • seperate the dough into 8 equal parts.
  • Roll out each dough ball until it is round.
  • add 1/8 of each ingredient and fold in half.
  • pinch down the edges to secure.
  • Bake 4 at a time for 45 minutes.

6 tablespoons unsalted butter
2 ounces diced bacon
1 large onion, finely chopped
3 garlic cloves, minced
1 tablespoon thyme leaves
1/2 cup dry white wine
1 1/2 cups canned diced tomatoes (from one 14.5-ounce can)
1 1/4 cups chicken stock
2 cans (14.5 ounces each) cannellini beans, drained and rinsed
2 pounds cooked pork sausages (French garlic and bratwurst), left whole or sliced 1 inch thick
5 cups homemade breadcrumbs, cut into 1/2-inch pieces
1/4 cup coarsely chopped fresh flat-leaf parsley

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 325 degrees. Melt 2 tablespoons butter in a large braiser or high-sided ovenproof skillet over medium-high heat. Add bacon; cook until crisp. Add onion; cook until tender. Add garlic and thyme; cook for 1 minute. Add wine; cook for 1 minute. Add tomatoes; cook until sauce is thickened. Add stock and beans; bring to a simmer. Add sausages. Bake for 30 minutes.
  • Toast breadcrumbs in remaining butter in a skillet over medium-high heat, stirring, until golden, 8 to 10 minutes. Stir in parsley. Season with coarse salt.
  • Remove skillet from oven. Heat broiler. Scatter breadcrumbs over top of sausage mixture. Broil 6 inches from heat source until top is deep golden brown, 1 to 2 minutes.
