The Best Clam Dip Recipe EVER image

This is my family's signature dip recipe and will make everyone a fan of clams in cream cheese whether they think they like it or not!

Number Of Ingredients 6

1 8- ounce package cream cheese (, at room temperature)
1 6.5- ounce can of minced clams (, drained and juice reserved)
2 green onions (, white and green parts, finely chopped)
1/2 lemon (, juiced)
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
Tabasco sauce to taste

Steps:

  • In a medium sized bowl, mash softened cream cheese with a fork until soft and creamy. Slowly add in 1 tablespoon of clam juice while mixing with fork and cream well. Add lemon juice and Worcestershire sauce.
  • Add green onion and clams to mixture. Add a few dashes of Tabasco to taste. If mixture seems thick, add remaining clam juice in one tablespoon increments to desired consistency. Serve with potato chips or refrigerate for up to 2 days.

2 (8 ounce) packages cream cheese
3 green onions, finely chopped
2 (8 ounce) cans minced clams, drained
2 teaspoons lemon juice
1 (1 pound) loaf round sourdough bread

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  • In a mixing bowl, combine cream cheese, green onions, clams and lemon juice. Cut the top out of the bread and hollow the bread out. Pour the clam mixture into the bread bowl and place the bread top back on the bread bowl.
  • Bake in a preheated 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) oven for 60 minutes. Serve with the bread you removed from the loaf when hollowing it out.

1/3 cup sour cream
2 cans (6.5 ounces each) whole clams, such as Bar Harbor Premium, drained and coarsely chopped, 3 tablespoons liquid reserved
1/2 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
2 teaspoons minced shallot
1/8 teaspoon cayenne pepper, plus more for sprinkling
Coarse salt
Potato chips, for serving

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Stir together cream cheese and sour cream in a medium bowl until smooth. Stir in clams and liquid, Worcestershire, shallot, cayenne, and 1/4 teaspoon salt until combined. Transfer mixture to a 2 1/2-to-3-cup baking dish.
  • Bake until bubbly and top is golden brown in spots, about 30 minutes. Serve warm, sprinkled with cayenne, with potato chips.

Half of a large onion, (diced)
1 tbsp olive oil
2 6.5-oz cans chopped clams in clam juice ((retain the juice))
1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese (or shredded)
1/4 tsp hot sauce ((optional))
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp dried oregano
1/2 tsp dried parsley
1/4 tsp dried thyme
1/4 tsp salt
1/4 tsp ground black pepper
1 cup panko breadcrumbs

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350°F. Add olive oil to a skillet and set over medium heat. Add chopped onion and saute for 5-6 minutes, or until the onion is golden.
  • Turn off the heat and add the two cans of clams, including the juice. Add Parmesan, hot sauce, garlic powder, oregano, parsley, thyme, salt, and pepper and stir to combine.
  • Add breadcrumbs and stir as the mixture thickens.
  • Transfer dip to a greased baking dish and bake for 35-40 minutes, or until the top is golden and the crust around the edges is golden brown. Serve warm with crackers.

6 tbsp unsalted butter (¾ stick)
1 cup onion (chopped)
1 red bell pepper (seeded and chopped)
1 cup celery (chopped)
2 cloves garlic (minced)
1 whole lemon (juiced, about 2 tbsps)
3 6.5 oz. cans clams (chopped, with juice)
1 tbsp hot sauce (ie, Tobasco of Krytsals)
½ tsp Kosher salt
2 cups bread crumbs (Italian-style Panko crumbs are great!)
¼ cup Parmesan cheese (grated, optional)

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350°F.
  • Melt butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add onion, pepper, celery, and garlic. Cook until tender, about 10 minutes
  • Add lemon juice, clams (with juice), hot sauce and salt
  • Take off the heat and add the bread crumbs and Parmesan cheese (if using)¼
  • Put into a greased medium-sized casserole dish (8"x11" works well).
  • Bake for 25 minutes.
  • Remove from oven and turn on the broiler
  • Add the dish back in and broil for about 3 minutes...until lightly browned on top (keep an eye on this...will brown quickly).
  • Serve with warm bread slices or crackers

1 -2 onion, minced
3 garlic cloves, minced
1/4 cup butter or 1/4 cup margarine
2 (10 ounce) cans clams, with juice (baby or minced)
1/2 cup grated cheese (velveeta or american)
1/4 cup parmesan cheese
3 -4 dashes Tabasco sauce, to taste
1 teaspoon lemon juice, to taste
3/4 cup seasoned bread crumbs
cracker, assortment, for dipping

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
  • Melt butter in a pan and saute onions and garlic until slightly browned and softened.
  • Combine the rest of the ingredients; add to onion and garlic saute.
  • Bring to a boil.

1 1 1/2-pound unsliced round sheepherder's bread
2 8-ounce packages cream cheese, room temperature
1 cup mayonnsaise
1 tablespoon prepared white horseradish
3 6 1/2-ounce cans minced clams, drained
4 large green onions, chopped

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350deg;F. Slice top 2 inches off bread and reserve for lid. Cut out insides of bread, leaving 1-inch-thick shell. (Reserve cut-out bread for another use.) Using electric mixer, beat cream cheese, mayonnaise, and horseradish in large bowl until blended. Mix in clams and green onions. Season with salt and pepper.Spoon filling into bread. Place reserved lid on bread. Wrap bread tightly in 2 layers of heavy-duty foil; place on heavy large baking sheet.
  • Bake until filling is very hot and bread is crusty, about 1 1/2 hours. Unwrap bread. Place on large tray. Remove lid; lean lid against bread at angle.
