Steps:
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
- Cut the bagels in half and then cut each half bagel into about 12 smaller pieces.
- Transfer to a bowl and put olive oil, Italian Seasoning, and cheese. Coat the bagel pieces in the oil.
- Spread the bagel pieces on a baking sheet. Bake for 10 minutes.
- Sprinkle croutons over a salad or add them to a soup.

Steps:
- 1. Preheat oven to 430 degrees.
- 2. Cut bagels in half crosswise. Cut very thin slices in each half to form chips.
- 3. In a large skillet (or a roast pan), put in the oil, butter garlic powder and salt. Stir while heating to melt the butter.
- 4. Add the sliced bagel chips to the pan. Use a spatula to turn or flip them over and over in the oil/butter mixture to coat them well.
- 5. Quickly place the bagel chips on baking sheets. Place in oven and bake for 8-10 minutes.
- 6. Remove from oven, turn the chips over and drain any oil that may be in the pan. Return to oven for an additional 3-6 minutes. *** (be care not to burn).
- 7. Remove from oven. Place on paper towel lined dish (tray, bowl or pan), to cool completely before putting in zipper bags to store.
- 8. Eat right away.. or set aside for a party! We eat these as is... but they are good with dips or plain cream cheese. *** WARNING! These are so good.... that you can't eat just a few.....

- For oven method croutons:Preheat the oven to 375º F.In a large bowl, combine the bread, olive oil, parmesan cheese, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Toss well to distribute the ingredients.Spread the bread cubes out on a sheet pan, giving them plenty of space in between. Bake the bread cubes for about 10 minutes, or until slightly golden brown and crisp. Keep in mind that the staler and older the bread, the quicker it will brown, so color is a good indication of when it's done.Remove the croutons from the oven, and enjoy!For skillet method croutons:Melt the butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the torn bread pieces to the pan, and sprinkle with the dried thyme. Let the bread cubes sit in the pan for a few minutes until golden brown on at least one side, then you can give it a stir. Keep cooking for a total of about 10 minutes, until the croutons are golden and crisp. Enjoy!Storage: Croutons will keep in an airtight container for a couple days at room temperature.
