4 bratwurst
3 (12 ounce) cans light beer
5 tablespoons brown sugar
1 teaspoon cayenne pepper
6 slices bacon, cut in half

Steps:

  • Poke bratwurst several times with a small fork, and place into a saucepan with the beer. Bring to a boil over high heat, then reduce heat to medium, and simmer for 15 minutes. Remove the bratwurst from the beer, and allow to cool to room temperature.
  • Preheat oven to 425 degrees F (220 degrees C). Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil, and place a wire rack on top.
  • Toss the brown sugar and cayenne pepper together in a large bowl and set aside. Cut each bratwurst into three pieces, wrap each piece with half strip of bacon, and secure with a toothpick. Toss the bratwurst with the cayenne mixture to coat, then place onto the prepared baking sheet.
  • Bake in preheated oven until the bacon is brown and crisp, 25 to 35 minutes.

Excellent Grilled bacon wrapped Bratwurst! Grill some Brats wrapped in bacon and finished on the smokey grill until crispy and brown. A Quick, yummy, summertime meal! Have a keto friendly, Low-Carb, Dairy-Free, Gluten-Free (If using gluten free brats)grilled bacon wrapped bratwurst for dinner!

6 Bratwurst, or however many you need for the crowd you're feeding
12 slices of maple flavored bacon, 2 pieces of bacon per brat

Steps:

  • Grill brats on 300 degrees for 15 minutes.
  • Remove brats from grill. Let cool until you can handle them.
  • Wrap 2 slices of bacon around each brat and secure end of bacon with toothpick through the brat.
  • When all the brats are wrapped in bacon, take back to grill.
  • Grill at 300 degrees an additional 10 minutes, turning frequently.
  • Brats are done when bacon is nicely browned and crisped. *Remember to remove the toothpick before serving*

1/4 cup of chopped onions, green peppers & red peppers
5 Sliced of Bacon
One package of Johnsonville Bratwurst
5 Brats Buns
Tomato mix (I used 2 tbsp. of yellow mustard. 2 tbsp of mayo. 1 tbsp of ketchup. 1 tbsp of honey dijon mustard)

Steps:

  • Wrap each piece of bacon tightly around a Johnsonville Bratwurst, tucking in the ends of bacon around the sausage.
  • Place each bacon/bratwurst into the Johnsonville Sizzling Sausage Grill.
  • Close the Johnsonville Sizzling Sausage Grill. You will know it is closed when you hear the click. (if you don't have a Johnsonville Sizzling Sausage Grill, you can put your bacon/brats on the grill and cook for about 8-10 minutes or until the bacon is done).
  • The Johnsonville Sizzling Sausage Grill will beep four times when the meat is thoroughly cooked. During grilling, the temperature probe will measure the internal temperature of the center sausage link. After it beeps, remove the bacon/brats using a pair of William Sonoma tongs {and it automatically shuts off!}
  • Place bacon/brats on the brats buns, and spread the chopped veggies over each one.
  • Finally, pour a little of the tomato mix over each brat.
