JUICY BACON BURGERS

Juicy Bacon Burgers image

Adding ground bacon to your burger mix makes the burgers incredibly juicy and flavorful. For each 1 lb. ground beef, add 4 oz of ground bacon.

Provided by Vered DeLeeuw

Categories     Main Course

Time 25m

Number Of Ingredients 9

4 oz bacon ((1/2 package))
1 lb. lean ground beef ((85/15))
1 teaspoon Diamond Crystal kosher salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon onion powder
1 teaspoon smoked paprika
1 teaspoon dried parsely
1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes

Steps:

  • Cut the bacon into pieces and freeze the pieces for 20 minutes to make it easier to process.
  • Process the bacon in a mini food processor on the "chop" setting until finely ground. Mix it into the beef with the remaining ingredients.
  • Form the mixture into four 3/4-inch-thick patties. Use your thumb to make a shallow dimple in the middle of each burger. This helps them retain their shape.
  • Heat a well-seasoned cast-iron skillet over medium heat, about 3 minutes. Add the burgers. If the skillet is well-seasoned, there's no need to add oil. Otherwise, add a tablespoon of oil to the pan before adding the burgers.
  • Cook the burgers until cooked through, about 4-5 minutes per side over medium heat.*
  • Serve immediately with your favorite hamburger toppings.**

BACON BIT BURGERS

Bacon Bit Burgers image

From the April/May 2006 issue of Every Day with Rachael Ray. Tried these tonight and they were fabulous, so wanted to post them so I didn't lose the recipe. Enjoy! These are NOT as difficult as the recipe sounds.

Provided by RSL5709

Categories     Meat

Time 35m

Yield 4 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 10

6 slices smoked bacon, cut into 1/2 inch pieces
3 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
2 yellow onions
1 1/2 lbs ground sirloin
2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
1 teaspoon hot sauce
1 tablespoon grill seasoning (like McCormick Montreal Steak Seasoning)
4 crusty kaiser rolls, split
4 slices smoked gouda cheese
1/4 cup steak sauce (like A1)

Steps:

  • In large skillet over medium heat, cook bacon until crisp, about 4-5 minutes. Remove from pan and drain on paper towel lined plate.
  • Discard all but about 1 T. of the bacon drippings.
  • Chop 1/4 of an onion finely, then slice the other 1 3/4 onions.
  • Sweat the chopped onion in the reserved bacon drippings for 2-3 minutes. Remove from pan and combine with the bacon.
  • Coat pan with the olive oil and drop in the sliced onions. Let sweat until soft and slightly browned, about 10 minutes. Remove and place in bowl; keep warm.
  • While the onions are sweating, combine the sirloin, Worcestershire, hot sauce, grill seasoning, and the bacon/onion mixture. Form into 4 equal-sized patties.
  • Cook burgers, covered, in skillet, about 4 minutes per side for medium-rare and 6 minutes per side for medium-well.
  • Place a slice of cheese on each burger and cover over low heat to melt the cheese.
  • Stir steak sauce into the cooked sliced onions.
  • Toast the buns if desired.
  • Serve burgers with the smothered onions on a toasted bun.
  • *NOTE* I served these without the buns and enjoyed them that way also. Just topped the burgers with the smothered onions and left the bun out of the equation.

BACON CHEESEBURGER BITES

Bacon Cheeseburger Bites image

Provided by Ree Drummond : Food Network

Time 35m

Yield 2 servings

Number Of Ingredients 11

2 slices thick-cut bacon
9 ounces ground beef
1 teaspoon kosher salt
1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
2 to 3 splashes Worcestershire sauce
1 clove garlic, pressed
3 slices Cheddar, quartered
1/4 cup baby spinach leaves
12 dill pickle chips
2 tablespoons your favorite burger condiment
3 cherry tomatoes, halved

Steps:

  • Heat a skillet with a lid over medium heat. Add the bacon and cook, turning occasionally, until crisp, about 12 minutes.
  • Meanwhile, mix together the ground beef, salt and pepper, Worcestershire sauce and garlic in a small bowl until well combined. Divide the mixture into 6 equal mini patties. Set aside.
  • Remove the bacon from the skillet and set aside. Add the burger bites and cook until well browned all over and cooked through, 4 to 5 minutes per side. Add 2 of the quartered pieces of cheese to the top of each bite and cover the skillet with the lid. Allow the cheese to melt, 1 minute. Remove the bites to a plate.
  • Tear each bacon piece into bite-size pieces. Start building up the bites by placing a piece of bacon on top of each patty, then a couple of folded leaves of spinach, a couple of pickles, a dollop of your favorite burger condiment, and a half a tomato, securing it all with a toothpick or small skewer. Repeat with the remaining ingredients until all the bites are built, and serve.
