This Bacon & Avocado Grilled Cheese is the epitome of comfort food. Flavorful and delicious, this is the best grilled cheese sandwich I've ever tasted!

1/2 avocado
2 slices sourdough bread
4 slices colby jack cheese
3 slices bacon
3 tablespoons butter

Steps:

  • Cut avocado in half, scoop out the flesh, and cut into slices.
  • Layer one slice of bread with 2 slices of cheese, avocado slices, bacon, remaining 2 slices of cheese, and top with remaining slice of bread.
  • Melt half the butter in a skillet over medium to medium-high heat. When butter is melted and starts to foam, carefully place sandwich into the skillet. Cook for 2-4 minutes until bottom is golden brown and toasted. Carefully flip over, add remaining butter and cook for an additional 1-3 minutes until toasted. Serve warm and enjoy!!

8 slices sandwich bread
8 teaspoons * Land O Lakes® Butter with Canola Oil
8 (3/4-ounce) slices white Land O Lakes® Deli American
8 slices crisply cooked bacon
1 ripe avocado, peeled, cut into 12 wedges
8 slices tomato

Steps:

  • Spread 1 side of each bread slice with 1 teaspoon Butter with Canola Oil.
  • Layer 1 slice bread, buttered-side down, with 1 slice cheese, 2 slices bacon, 3 wedges avocado, 2 slices tomato and 1 slice cheese. Top with 1 slice bread, buttered-side up.
  • Heat 12-inch skillet or griddle over medium heat.
  • Place 2 sandwiches into skillet; cook, turning once, 8-10 minutes or until golden brown and cheese is melted. Repeat with remaining sandwiches.

What could be more perfect than bacon, avocado and cheese? Transform them into a hot and melted grilled crisp sandwich!

Number Of Ingredients 6

crusty French sourdough bread: 8 slices
bacon, crisply cooked and crumbled: 6 slices
American cheese: 8 slices
avocado, peeled and chopped: 1
shredded Colby cheese: 1 cup
butter, softened: 1/3 cup

Steps:

  • Put four of the slices of bread on the counter. Top with the American cheese, the bacon, and the avocado. Sprinkle the Colby cheese over all.
  • Top with the rest of the slices of bread. Then spread the outsides of the sandwiches with the softened butter. Use 2 teaspoons for each slice of bread.
  • Briefly heat a nonstick skillet over medium heat. Add the sandwiches, press down on them with a spatula, and cover the pan.
  • After 2 minutes, remove the cover and lift one of the sandwiches with a spatula. If it's brown, carefully turn the sandwiches. If not, let it cook for another minute.
  • When the sandwiches are all flipped, gently press down on them with the spatula again and cover the pan. Grill for another 2 to 3 minutes or until the bread is crisp and golden and the cheese is melted.
  • First, cook the bacon in the air fryer. Preheat the air fryer to 350°F. Put the slices in the fryer making sure they are separate. Air fry regular bacon for 7 to 9 minutes; thick cut bacon for 10 to 13 minutes. Remove the bacon and drain on paper towels. Remove excess grease from the air fryer, then assemble your sandwiches.
  • Preheat the air fryer to 375°F. Put the sandwich(es) in the air fryer. Air fry for 4 minutes, then carefully flip the sandwiches and air fry for another 4 to 5 minutes or until the bread is browned and crisp and the cheese is melted. Serve.

3 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 400°F Cook bacon in the oven on a baking sheet with sides, turning strips over once, 12 minutes, or until crisp. Drain on paper towel.
  • Place half the cheddar cheese on half the bread slices. Neatly arrange tomato slices, bacon strips, and avocado slices on top of cheese, then top with remaining cheese slices and bread.
  • Heat 2 large heavy skillets or a griddle over medium-low heat. Carefully spread both sides of each sandwich with butter. Grill sandwiches, pressing down frequently with the back of a spatula, until bread is crisp and toasted to an even golden color and cheese is melted, about 2 minutes per side. Serve immediately, cutting sandwiches diagonally into halves.
