2 cups butter, softened
2 cups white sugar
2 cups packed brown sugar
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1 teaspoon salt
2 teaspoons baking powder
2 teaspoons baking soda
4 eggs
4 cups all-purpose flour
5 cups rolled oats
4 cups semisweet chocolate chips
8 ounces finely grated chocolate bar
3 cups chopped walnuts

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (180 degrees C).
  • Cream together butter or margarine, white sugar, and brown sugar. Add eggs and vanilla.
  • Mix together in a separate bowl: salt, baking powder, baking soda, flour and oatmeal (put small amounts of oatmeal in blender until it turns to powder. Measure out 5 cups of oatmeal and only "powderize" that, NOT 5 cups "powderized" oatmeal).
  • Mix all of the above.
  • Add: chocolate chips, grated chocolate bar, and chopped nuts (any kind).
  • Bake on greased cookie sheet (make golf ball sized balls) and bake about two inches apart. Bake for 8 -10 minutes. Do not overbake.

2 cups butter
2 cups sugar
2 cups packed brown sugar
4 large eggs
2 tablespoons vanilla
4 cups flour
5 cups oatmeal (put in blender and make into flour)
1 teaspoon salt
4 teaspoons baking powder
4 teaspoons baking soda
2 (12 ounce) bags chocolate chips
8 ounces Hershey Bars, grated
3 cups nuts, any kind of nuts (optional)

Steps:

  • Cream together butter, sugar and brown sugar.
  • Add eggs and vanilla and mix well.
  • Mix together flour, oat flour, salt, baking powder and baking soda.
  • Stir in chocolate chips, grated Hershey bar and nuts (if using).
  • Drop by 1 1/2" balls onto ungreased cookie sheet.
  • Bake at 375° for 6-10 minutes.
  • NOTE: If you want your cookies to spread out a bit more, flatten them a bit before baking.
  • Cookies will be soft but will firm up a bit after cooling.

Given to me my a friend, who knows a friend, etc........way back in 1987. The grinding of the oatmeal is critical. Bake these cookies on the second level from the bottom of the oven.

1 cup butter
1 cup white sugar
1 cup packed brown sugar
2 eggs
1 tablespoon vanilla extract
2 ½ cups rolled oats
2 cups all-purpose flour
½ teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon baking soda
12 ounces semisweet chocolate chips
1 cup chopped walnuts

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (180 degrees C). Grease cookie sheets or line with parchment paper.
  • Cream butter, sugars, eggs and vanilla until very smooth and fluffy.
  • In a separate bowl, mix together flour, salt, baking powder, and baking soda. In a food processor, blend oatmeal until fine. Add to flour mixture.
  • Stir butter mixture into flour/oatmeal mixture. Blend well.
  • Add chocolate chips and walnuts. Stir until blended. Roll into golf balls size and bake for 8-10 minutes. You do not want to over bake these.

1 1/2 cups brown sugar, packed
2 eggs
2 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract

1 teaspoon baking soda
18 ounces semi-sweet chocolate chips (1 1/2 bags)

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350ºF.
  • In a large mixing bowl, cream together the butter, sugars, eggs, and vanilla.
  • In another bowl, mix together the flour, salt, baking powder and baking soda.
  • Combine wet and dry ingredients.
  • Stir in chocolate chips by hand.

I found this recipe for Mrs Fields cookies languishing in my recipe box. I made them this week for him and now I know why Mrs Fields cookies are so popular. This homemade version is so delicious you will prefer it to store bought!

1 Cup Coconut Oil (Or butter-softened)
1 Cup Granulated sugar
1 Cup Brown sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
2 Cups all purpose flour
2-1/2 Cups Oats (measure then grind fine in a blender or food processor)
1-1/2 Cup chopped nuts-any kind I used Walnuts
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. baking soda
1-4 oz. bag Heath bits
6 oz. chocolate chips
6 oz. Butterscotch Chips

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F.
  • Cream the coconut oil, vanilla, eggs and sugars together
  • in a separate bowl whisk all the dry ingredients together except the chips and nuts.
  • Combine the wet and dry ingredients.
  • Add the chips, bits and nuts and mix.
  • With an ice cream scoop place golf ball sized balls on the baking sheet 2 inches apart.(I used silicone baking mats on mine)
  • Bake for about 7 minutes until the edges turn just barely brown.
  • Remove from oven and let cool on the baking sheet until they set up enough to move to the cooling racks.
  • Cool completely and then store in an airtight container
