CHERRY DELIGHT DESSERT

This smooth and creamy cheesecake-like treat is light, sweet and pretty, too. Convenience products make it quick and easy to prepare. "My husband also likes this dessert when I substitute blueberry pie filling," notes Lanae Powell of McPherson, Kansas.

Number Of Ingredients 8

1/2 cup graham cracker crumbs
2 tablespoons confectioners' sugar
2 tablespoons butter, melted
FILLING:
4 ounces cream cheese, softened
3/4 cup confectioners' sugar
1/2 cup whipped topping
1 cup cherry pie filling

Steps:

  • In a bowl, combine the graham cracker crumbs, confectioners' sugar and butter. Press onto the bottom of an 8x4-in. loaf pan coated with cooking spray. , In a small bowl, beat cream cheese and confectioners' sugar until smooth; fold in whipped topping. Spread over crust. Spoon pie filling over top. Refrigerate for 1 hour or until chilled.

My great-Aunt Helen was a fantastic cook, and here's another one of her recipes. This is always a hit whenever one of us in the family makes it! Note: You can use cool whip instead of dream whip.

CRUST
1 1/2 c flour
1 1/2 stick butter
2 Tbsp sugar
1/2 c pecans, chopped
FILLING
1 pkg cream cheese
1 pkg dream whip, made according to the directions on box
2 c powdered sugar
1 can(s) cherry pie filling

Steps:

  • 1. Crust: Mix together and press into a 9x13 dish. bake at 350 for 20 minutes or until light brown in color.
  • 2. Filling: Mix ingredients together and spread on cooled crust. Top with cherry pie filling. Keep cool!
