This recipe comes from my Aunt. Someone from their church had sent over this dish while I was in visiting my family. We all had a fit over it. Wanted to share and have for my own reference too. NOTE: Can use Splenda in place of sugar

2 (3 ounce) packages beef-flavor ramen noodles
2 (8 1/2 ounce) packages broccoli coleslaw mix
1 cup toasted slivered almonds
1 cup sunflower seeds
1/2 bunch green onion, chopped
1/2 cup sugar
3/4 cup oil
1/3 cup white vinegar

Steps:

  • Before opening noodles, crush into 1 inch pieces. Open packages and set aside flavor packets.
  • Place noodles in bottom of large serving bowl. Top noodles with broccoli slaw, then sprinkle with almonds and sunflower kernels, and green onions.
  • In a separate bowl combine sugar, oil, vinegar, and flavor packets from noodles. Pour over slaw, cover and chill up to 24 hours.
  • Toss before serving.

Steps:

  • Place ramen noodles in colander; break into quarters. Pour boiling water over noodles to soften slightly. Use a fork to separate noodles. Rinse quickly with cold water; drain.
  • Make a dressing by whisking together the flavor packet from the ramen noodles, olive oil, vinegar, and sweetener in a bowl. Place the ramen noodles, coleslaw mix, green onions, and sunflower seeds in a large bowl; toss to combine. Drizzle dressing over the coleslaw mixture and continue to toss until entire mixture is coated with dressing. Chill for 2 hours before serving.

2 tablespoons white sugar
1 (3 ounce) package chicken flavored ramen noodles, crushed, seasoning packet reserved
½ teaspoon salt
½ teaspoon ground black pepper
2 tablespoons sesame seeds
¼ cup sliced almonds
½ medium head cabbage, shredded
5 green onions, chopped

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  • In a medium bowl, whisk together the oil, vinegar, sugar, ramen noodle spice mix, salt and pepper to create a dressing.
  • Place sesame seeds and almonds in a single layer on a medium baking sheet. Bake in the preheated oven 10 minutes, or until lightly brown.

Steps:

  • Crush the ramen coarsely and place the in a large bowl. Add the coleslaw mix but do not stir. Sprinkle the top of the coleslaw with the almonds, sunflower seeds, and green onions. In a small bowl, whisk together the seasonings from the ramen noodles, sugar, oil, and vinegar until well mixed. Pour over the salad evenly. Cover the bowl and place the layered Asian ramen coleslaw in the refrigerator for 24 hours before serving. Right before serving, gently toss the ingredients to mix them.

2/3 cup sliced almonds
2 tablespoons sesame seeds
1 bag coleslaw mix ((16 ounces))
1 1/2 cups shelled frozen edamame (thawed)
1 cup shredded carrots
4 scallions (thinly sliced (both white and green parts))
1/2 cup canned mandarin orange segments in light syrup (rinsed and drained)
1/4 cup rice vinegar
3 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil
2 tablespoons honey (substitute agave if vegan)
1 tablespoon low-sodium soy sauce
1/4 teaspoon kosher salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Steps:

  • Place a rack in the center of your oven and preheat the oven to 425 degrees F. Crumble the ramen noodles onto a baking sheet and spread them in a single layer along with the almonds. Bake for 5 minutes, remove from the oven, add the sesame seeds, and toss, then bake for 1 to 3 additional minutes until fragrant and golden. Watch closely so that the mixture does not burn. Set aside.
  • In a small bowl, briskly stir together all of the dressing ingredients: rice vinegar, olive oil, honey, soy sauce, salt, and pepper. (Alternatively, you can shake them together in a mason jar with a tight-fitting lid.)

1 head green cabbage (shredded)
6 green onion (finely chopped)
1 red pepper (thinly sliced)
1 package instant ramen (chicken flavored)
3 tablespoons butter
1/2 cup slivered almond
1 tablespoon roasted sesame seeds
1/4 cup water
1/2 teaspoon garlic paste
2 tablespoons sugar
1 tablespoon soy sauce (low sodium)
1 tablespoon sesame oil
1/4 cup canola oil
1/4 cup rice vinegar

Steps:

  • Crush ramen noodles into small pieces in the unopened package by hand. Open the package and set the flavoring mix aside.
  • Heat butter over medium heat. Add crushed ramen and keep tossing to coat with butter. When it starts to brown, slowly add 1/3 cup of water to soften the noodles.
  • When the water is mostly evaporated, add almonds and sesame seeds. Stir often to prevent burning. When almonds and sesame seeds begin to brown, add the ramen flavoring mix and mix. Remove from heat and immediately transfer to a bowl to let it cool.
  • Whisk together all the dressing ingredients. Set it aside.
  • Mix shredded cabbage, green onion, and red pepper. Add the cooled ramen and dressing. Mix and serve.

5 stalks of scallions (sliced)
¾ cup vegetable oil
⅓ cup white vinegar
½ cup granulated sugar

Steps:

  • In a large bowl, place coleslaw mix, sunflower seeds, sliced almonds, crushed ramen (see note below), and scallions.
  • In a large measuring cup, add vegetable oil, vinegar, and sugar. Whisk together. Don't worry if the sugar will not completely dissolve.

3 Tbsp. sesame seeds
1 cup slivered almonds
1 one pound bag of shredded cabbage
1 bag of Oriental Flavor Ramen Noodles (broken up into bite-size pieces (reserve the seasoning packet))
Chopped scallions for garnish
3 Tbsp. apple cider vinegar
2 Tbsp. granulated sugar
1/3 cup of vegetable or canola oil
Ramen seasoning packet (which comes from the noodles that go into the salad)
Salt and pepper to taste

Steps:

  • Place the sesame seeds and slivered almonds into pan and toast them for a couple minutes over medium low heat, turning them periodically. They will start to smell fragrant when they are done (don't burn them!). Set aside to cool.
  • In a bowl, whisk together the vinegar, sugar, oil, Ramen seasoning packet and some salt and pepper until well combined. Set aside.
  • In a larger bowl, mix the cabbage, noodles, almonds and sesame seeds.
  • Toss well in the dressing and sprinkle with chopped scallions just before serving.
  • Enjoy!
