2 tablespoons soy sauce
1 tablespoon sesame oil
1 can (8 ounces) sliced water chestnuts, drained and chopped
1 cup bean sprouts
1/2 cup finely chopped fresh mushrooms
1 celery rib, finely chopped
4 green onions, finely chopped
1 teaspoon pepper
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 pounds ground beef
4 teaspoons canola oil
1/2 cup mayonnaise
1 tablespoon prepared wasabi
8 sesame seed hamburger buns, split
3 cups shredded Chinese or napa cabbage

Steps:

  • In a large bowl, combine the first nine ingredients. Crumble beef over mixture and mix well. Shape into eight patties., In two large skillets, cook burgers in oil over medium heat for 5-6 minutes on each side or until a thermometer reads 160°., Meanwhile, combine mayonnaise and wasabi; spread over buns. Serve burgers on buns with cabbage.

Steps:

  • Preheat grill for medium heat and lightly oil the grate.
  • Mix ground beef, green onion, hoisin sauce, Sriracha sauce, sesame oil, garlic powder, red pepper flakes, ginger, salt, and black pepper together in a bowl until thoroughly combined. Divide meat mixture into quarters; form each portion into a patty.

1 tablespoon low-sodium soy sauce
2 teaspoons fresh ginger, grated
8 ounces beef sirloin, sliced into 1-inch strips
1 quart (32 ounces) reduced-sodium or homemade beef stock
2 large carrots, shredded or thinly chopped
1/2 head Napa cabbage (about 2 1/2 cups), shredded
1 1/2 cups sliced mushrooms, tops only
1/2 teaspoon sesame oil
2 cups bean sprouts
1 teaspoon sriracha sauce
1/4 cup cilantro leaves, chopped
3 green onions, chopped

Steps:

  • Mix the soy sauce and ginger in a medium bowl, add the beef, and let marinate.
  • Meanwhile, bring the stock to a boil in a large saucepan or stock pot.
  • Add the beef and sauce to the boiling stock, and reduce heat to medium-high. Cook for two minutes, then add the carrots, cabbage, and mushrooms.
  • Cook another two minutes then add the sesame oil, sriracha, and bean sprouts.
  • Cook two more minutes, then remove from heat and garnish with cilantro and green onions.
  • Makes 4 (two cup) servings.
  • Serve with brown rice or rice noodles, as shown in the photo.

1 package McCormick Grill Mates Korean BBQ Marinade
2 cups coleslaw
2 teaspoons rice vinegar
1 teaspoon soy sauce
1 teaspoon sesame oil
1/4 cup mayonnaise
3 Tablespoons Sweet Chili Sauce
1 Tablespoon lime juice

Steps:

  • To make the burgers: In a medium sized bowl add the ground beef and korean bbq marinade. Mix until just incorporated being careful not to over mix. Shape into 4 patties.
  • Preheat your grill and place burgers on the grill. Turn them once and cook for about 8 minutes until cooked throughout.
  • To make the slaw: In a small bowl add the coleslaw, rice vinegar, soy sauce and sesame oil. Toss until combined.
  • To make the sweet chili lime mayo: In a small bowl add the mayonnaise, sweet chili sauce, and lime juice. Mix until combined.
  • To assemble the burgers place a bed of romaine on the bottom of the patty and top with sweet chili lime mayo and slaw. Enjoy!

1 tablespoon canola oil
2 cups water
1 cup beef broth
1/4 cup sherry or additional beef broth
1/4 cup reduced-sodium soy sauce
6 green onions, chopped
3 tablespoons brown sugar
2 garlic cloves, minced
1 tablespoon minced fresh gingerroot
2 teaspoons sesame oil
1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
1-1/2 cups sliced fresh mushrooms
1-1/2 cups julienned carrots
1 cup sliced bok choy
1-1/2 cups uncooked long grain rice
Chive blossoms, optional

Steps:

  • In a large saucepan, brown meat in oil on all sides; drain. Add the water, broth, sherry, soy sauce, onions, brown sugar, garlic, ginger, sesame oil and cayenne. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat; cover and simmer for 1 hour., Stir in the mushrooms, carrots and bok choy; cover and simmer 20-30 minutes longer or until vegetables are tender.
