2 tablespoons butter, melted
1 cup pecan halves
2 teaspoons soy sauce
salt
2 teaspoons hot pepper sauce

Steps:

  • Toss pecans in butter to coat. Place in single layer on cookie sheet and bake in preheated 300 degree oven for 30 minutes. Toss occasionally.
  • Meanwhile combine soy sauce and hot pepper sauce. Place hot cooked pecans in sauce mixture and stir to coat. Sprinkle with salt.
  • Spread on paper towels to cool. Place cooled pecans in jars with tight fitting lids.

These pecans aren't too hot, but you can leave out the red pepper if you like them milder, or increase it to taste. These make a great snack or appetizer for the holidays, or anytime.

1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
¼ teaspoon ground red pepper
¼ teaspoon salt
¼ teaspoon garlic powder
2 cups pecan halves
1 tablespoon chili powder

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 300 degrees F (150 degrees C).
  • In a medium bowl, mix butter, Worcestershire sauce, red pepper, salt, and garlic powder. Stir in the pecans, and gently toss with chili powder to coat.
  • Spread coated pecans on a medium baking sheet, and cook 30 minutes in the preheated oven, stirring approximately every 10 minutes.

My grandfather used to make these all the time. They are like potato chips, you can't eat just one! Prep time includes the soaking after cooking. I do not include the salt.

1 cup pecans
2 tablespoons butter, melted
2 teaspoons soy sauce
1/2 teaspoon salt (optional)
6 dashes Tabasco sauce

Steps:

  • Spread pecans evenly in a casserole or on a baking sheet and cover with butter.
  • Bake at 300 degrees for 25-30 minutes or until lightly browned.
  • Mix soy sauce, salt, and Tabasco and stir into toasted pecans.
  • Let stand at least 30 minutes and drain on paper towels.
  • Pecans will keep for months in a tightly covered container.

1/2 cup(s) butter
2 tablespoon(s) worcestershire sauce
1 teaspoon(s) seasoned salt
1/4 teaspoon(s) garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon(s) ground cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon(s) ground red pepper (cayenne)
1/8 teaspoon(s) ground cloves

Steps:

  • Place pecans in a 15 x 13 x 1 inch baking pan.
  • Bake uncovered at 300F for 10 minutes.
  • Meanwhile melt butter; stir in Worcestershire sauce, salt, cinnamon, garlic powder, red pepper, hot pepper sauce and cloves.
  • Drizzle over pecans in pan, stir gently.
  • Bake 10 minutes more, stirring once.
  • Turn onto foil, cool.
  • Makes 18 (1/4 cup) servings or 9 (1/2 cup) servings.

got this from the magazine that our local electric co-op sends out. i altered it somewhat. cooking time does not include time for water to boil in water bath canner. this is a soft jel. this is not "hot", but a sublte pepper flavor.

1 cup water
2 tablespoons hot pepper sauce (such as Tabasco)
1/3 cup lemon juice
3 cups sugar
3 ounces liquid pectin
red food coloring
1/2 cup crushed toasted pecans

Steps:

  • To toast the pecans:.
  • Place a single layer on a baking sheet and bake at 300 degrees for 10 minutes. Stir often. Toasted pecans should be light brown and crisp.
  • To make the jelly:.
  • In a large saucepan, combine water, hot pepper sauce, lemon juice, and sugar.
  • Bring mixture boil, stir constantly.
  • Add pectin and a few drops of food coloring.
  • Let mixture come to a full rolling boil and continue boiling for 30 seconds.
  • Add pecans.
  • Remove from heat and skim off any and all the foam.
  • Pour into three 8-ounce sterilized canning jars, leaving 1/4 inch headspace in each.
  • Wipe rims of jars clean and put on pre-heated lids and screw rings just until fingertip tight.
  • Process in a boiling water bath for 5 minutes.

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 350°; line a rimmed baking sheet with foil.
  • In a small saucepan, bring the Dr Pepper and butter to a boil over med-high heat.
  • Simmer until the liquid reduces by half, about 15 minutes.
  • Stir in the pecans and continue to cook until the liquid becomes a sticky glaze, 3-4 minutes.
  • Add a big pinch of salt, stir, and transfer to the prepared baking sheet.
  • Bake, stirring once or twice, until toasted, about 10 minutes.

These pecans have graced our family's Christmas sweet gift platters. I've also sprinkled them over my gourmet salads. They add so much in either case. I can't get enough of them! Lining the pans with parchment paper makes for easier removal of the pecans and easier cleanup!

1 cup white sugar
5 cups hot water
10 cups pecan halves
⅔ cup white sugar
5 tablespoons chili powder
1 tablespoon cayenne pepper

Steps:

  • Stir 1 cup sugar into the hot water in a large bowl until the sugar is completely dissolved. Soak the pecans in the water for 1 hour; drain.
  • Preheat an oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C). Line two 9x13 inch baking dishes with parchment paper.
  • Sift the 2/3 cup sugar, chili powder, and cayenne pepper together in a separate large bowl; add the pecans and toss to coat evenly. Spread the coated pecans in a single layer into the prepared dishes.
  • Bake in the preheated oven until the coating on the pecans are bubbly, stirring once, 10 to 15 minutes. Remove the pecans from the pans immediately and spread onto a counter or other flat surface covered with parchment paper to cool.

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 300 degrees F (150 degrees C).
  • Melt butter in a skillet over medium heat. Stir cumin and cayenne pepper into the butter until dissolved, about 1 minute. Remove skillet from heat and immediately stir pecans, sucralose sweetener, and salt into the butter mixture to coat the nuts completely. Spread coated nuts onto a baking sheet.
  • Bake pecans in preheated oven until lightly browned, stirring occasionally, 25 to 30 minutes.
