Steps:

  • In a skillet, heat butter and brown sugar together until butter is melted and brown sugar is dissolved. Add ham steak into pan and cook 3 - 4 minutes on each side until cooked through. Place ham steak on plate and top with fresh or warmed up sauteed apples.

Steps:

  • Add butter to a skillet and let melt.
  • Add in brown sugar and mustard; stir to blend well.
  • Add in apples and stir/simmer for about 5-8 minutes or until apples are just tender.
  • Transfer apple mixture to another dish.
  • Place ham steak in skillet and top with apple mixture.
  • Over medium heat, cook, covered, about 5-10 minutes or until ham is thoroughly heated.

1/4 cup apple jelly
2 tablespoons chopped fresh chives
2 teaspoons prepared mustard
1/2 teaspoon dry mustard
1/8 teaspoon ginger
1 (1-lb.) fully cooked center-cut ham steak (1/2 inch thick)

Steps:

  • Heat grill. In small saucepan, combine all ingredients except ham steak. Cook over low heat until jelly is melted, stirring occasionally.
  • When ready to grill, oil grill rack. Place ham steak on gas grill over medium heat or on charcoal grill 4 to 6 inches from medium coals. Brush with jelly mixture. Cook 8 to 10 minutes or until thoroughly heated, turning and brushing once with jelly mixture. Serve with remaining jelly mixture.

1 medium vidalia onion, halved and thinly sliced
1/4 teaspoon fresh ground pepper
2 tablespoons butter
1 (1 lb) ham steak, boneless and fully-cooked
1 teaspoon cornstarch
1/2 cup unsweetened apple juice
1/2 cup apple butter

Steps:

  • In a large skillet, saute onion and pepper in butter until crisp tender. Remove from pan and set aside.
  • Cut ham steak into 4 pieces and in the same skillet, brown ham on both sides.
  • While ham is browning, in a small bowl, combine the cornstarch and apple juice until smooth; then pour over ham.
  • Bring juices to a boil and cook while stirring for 1-2 minutes or until slightly thickened.
  • Reduce heat and spread apple butter over ham.
  • Top with sauteed onion.
  • Cover pan and simmer for 5-7 minutes or until thoroughly heated through.

1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
1/4 cup hard or apple cider
1/4 cup heavy cream, optional

Steps:

  • Remove rind and trim off all but 1/4-inch of outer fat. Cut ham into two serving pieces. Score the fat edge at 1-inch intervals so the steak does not curl during cooking. Lightly saute, ham on both sides in butter for 3 to 4 minutes a side. Remove ham steak to a plate.
  • Add apple and saute until somewhat soft. Stir in mustard and cider and reduce until the cider has almost entirely evaporated. Add the heavy cream and reduce until slightly thickened. Season to taste with salt and pepper and spoon sauce over steak.

2 tablespoons unsalted butter
2 (1/4-inch-thick) baked ham slices, quartered
1 large shallot, finely chopped
2 teaspoons cider vinegar
1/2 cup apple juice
1 1/2 tablespoons whole-grain mustard
1/2 tablespoon Dijon mustard, or to taste
Pinch of ground cloves

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 250°F.
  • Core whole apple (without peeling) and cut 8 (1/4-inch-thick) rounds.
  • Heat 1 tablespoon butter in a 12-inch nonstick skillet over moderately high heat, then sauté ham, turning once, until browned, 5 to 6 minutes total. Transfer ham to a heatproof dish and keep warm, loosely covered with foil, in oven. Add remaining tablespoon butter to skillet and sauté apple slices, turning once, until golden and tender, 4 minutes total. Four 1-inch thick ham steaks, cut from a whole boneless ham
3 tablespoons unsalted butter
1 Granny Smith apple, chopped
1 small yellow onion, chopped
1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
1 tablespoon light brown sugar
1 tablespoon yellow mustard seeds
Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper

Steps:

  • For the ham steaks: Heat the oil on a cast-iron griddle over medium-high heat. Add the ham steaks and cook until golden brown on both sides, about 4 minutes per side.
