CARAMEL APPLE DUMP CAKE
Warm, spicy apples with a buttery, crunchy topping. This screams fall! This is so easy and quick and sure to be a crowd pleaser. This would be delicious with vanilla ice cream and maybe top with more of the caramel sauce.

Steps:
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Lightly grease a 9x13-inch baking pan with cooking spray.
- Spread apple pie filling in an even layer on the bottom of the pan. Drizzle caramel sauce evenly over apples. Sprinkle cake mix evenly over apples and caramel. Drizzle melted butter evenly over cake mix. Sprinkle evenly with chopped walnuts.
- Bake in the preheated oven until cake is golden brown and the filling is bubbling through to the top, 50 to 55 minutes. Let cool at least 15 minutes. Serve warm or at room temperature.

- In a medium bowl, mix the apples and sugar. Let stand about 30 minutes.
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease and flour two 10x15 inch baking pans.
- Stir the water into the bowl with apples. Blend eggs and margarine in a small bowl, and mix with the apples. Mix in the flour, baking soda, cinnamon, and salt. Stir in the raisins and walnuts. Transfer to the prepared pans.
- Bake 1 hour in the preheated oven, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Cool slightly before turning out of pans.
- In a medium bowl, blend confectioners' sugar, hot water, and vanilla extract. Drizzle over the cakes while still warm.

- Streusel: In a small bowl, combine the flour, brown sugar, and cinnamon. Add the butter and work with your fingers or a fork to form crumbs. Cake: Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease a 9 x 9" cake pan. In a medium bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. In another medium bowl, with an electric mixer on medium speed, beat the butter and sugar for 4 minutes or until creamy. Add the eggs and vanilla extract, beating until just smooth. Alternately add the flour mixture and the sour cream, beating on low speed until just blended. Stir in the apple and raisins. Place the batter into the prepared pan. Top with the streusel. Bake for 40 minutes or until a wooden toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Cool on a rack for 20 minutes and serve warm, or cool completely.

- In a large skillet, melt the butter. Add the apples, raisins, sugar and lemon juice and cook over moderately high heat, stirring often, until the sugar is dissolved, about 5 minutes. Continue to cook the apples over moderate heat, stirring occasionally, until they’re very soft and caramelized, 20 to 30 minutes; add water by the tablespoonful if the apples get too dry. Let cool to room temperature.

At low speed, beat in the buttermilk and the flour mixture in 3 alternating batches, ending with the flour mixture. Fold in the apples.
