Steps:
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease a 13 x 9 x 2 inch baking pan.
- Beat butter or margarine until creamy. Add half of the flour, the brown sugar, white sugar, egg, apple butter, baking soda and the apple pie spice. Beat together until well blended. Beat in remaining flour and stir in raisins. Spread in prepared baking pan.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes or till toothpick in center comes out clean. Cool in pan on wire rack. Drizzle with icing. Cut into bars.
- To Make Icing: Mix 1 cup confectioners' sugar, 1/4 teaspoon vanilla and 1 - 2 tablespoons milk. Mix to drizzling consistency.

I opened a can of worms the other day when I mentioned working at an Apple Farm in NY. I was overwhelmed with the number of apple recipes that I had collected from those days. Here is a great bar cookie that all kids like.

- 1. In a large bowl, beat together butter and sugar until fluffy; stir in vanilla and egg. In a small bowl, combine flour, baking soda, baking powder, and nutmeg.
- 2. Add flour mixture to butter mixture; mix thoroughly. Fold in apples and nuts if using.
- 3. Spread batter in a greased 9" x 9" baking pan. Bake at 350-degrees for 30-35 minutes. Cool and cut into squares.
- 4. When I leave the nuts out, I often add in 3/4 cup of raisins in it's place.

- 1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Line a 9x13 inch baking dish with parchment paper.2. In the bowl of a food processor, pulse together the flour, oats, pecans, brown sugar, baking powder and cinnamon, until the oats are mostly ground. Add the cold butter, pulse until a crumbly dough forms. If the dough seems dry, add 1 tablespoon water.3. Press 1/3 of the dough into the bottom of the prepared baking dish. Transfer to the oven and bake 10 minutes or until lightly golden.4. Meanwhile, make the filling. In a medium bowl, toss the apples with the maple syrup, flour, cinnamon, nutmeg, and vanilla. Spread the apple butter evenly over the pre-baked crust. Arrange the apples in an even layer over the apple butter. Sprinkle the remaining 2/3 streusel dough over top of the apples. Lay the butter sliced over the streusel. Return to the oven and bake for 30-40 minutes or until the crumble is a light golden brown. 5. Let cool completely before cutting into bars. Keep stored in a sealed container for up to 1 week.

APPLE BUTTER OATMEAL BARS RECIPE

- Preheat oven to 350ºF and line a 9x13 baking dish with parchment paper.
- Mix flour, oats, brown sugar, salt, cardamon, and baking soda in a bowl. Add butter and combine with hands; mixture will be crumbly.
- Press 2/3 of the flour/oat mixture evenly into the bottom of the prepared baking dish.
- Mix together apple butter and applesauce. Spread apple mixture evenly on top of oat mixture; sprinkle with remaining topping.
- Bake on middle rack for 25-30 minutes. Allow to cool completely in the pan on a wire rack. Store in airtight container in the fridge for up to a week. Enjoy!

- In a large bowl, combine the flour, oats, brown sugar and baking soda; cut in 1 cup plus 2 tablespoons butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Set aside 2 cups for topping. Press remaining crumbs into a greased 13x9-in. baking dish. Arrange apples over top; set aside. , In a saucepan, combine the sugar, cornstarch, water, vanilla and remaining butter. Bring to a boil. This is one of my newly adopted recipes. I tossed this together tonight while fixing dinner. Very quick and easy dessert. I used regular apple butter, but no added sugar apple butter could be used as well.

- Heat oven to 350 degrees.
- Grease 9-inch square baking pan with nonstick cooking spray.
- In large bowl, combine oats, flour, sugar, salt and cinnamon.
- Add butter and beat with electric mixer on low until mixture is crumbly.
- Pat half of the mixture, about 2 cups into baking pan.
- Spread apple butter evenly over crumb layer.
- Sprinkle remaining crumbs over apple butter and press down gently.
- Bake 30-35 minutes or until golden.
- Transfer pan to wire rack and cool completely.

- Preheat oven to 350°F. Mix flour, brown sugar, 1/2 cup of the granulated sugar and the cinnamon; cut in butter using pastry blender or two knives until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Stir in walnuts. Reserve 2 cups of the crumb mixture for topping; press remaining crumb mixture firmly onto bottom of 13x9-inch baking pan.
- Beat cream cheese and milk with electric mixer on medium speed until well blended. Add remaining 1/4 cup granulated sugar, the egg and vanilla; mix well. Pour over crust. Top with apples; sprinkle with reserved crumb mixture.

- Preheat oven to 350 degrees and grease an 8x8 baking dish.
- Cream butter and sugars. Add egg yolks and beat until fluffy. Mix in flour and salt and then stir in the oats and nuts. Press half of this mixture into the bottom of the baking dish.
- Spread the apple butter over the dough to within 1/2 inch of the edge.
- Sprinkle with pieces of the extra dough until the surface is evenly coated. Press down carefully but firmly to cover the apple butter.

- Preheat oven to 350°. In a medium bowl, combine 2 cups flour, the baking soda, cinnamon, salt and nutmeg. In a large bowl, beat softened butter with a mixer on medium 30 seconds. Add granulated sugar; beat until light and fluffy. Beat in eggs and vanilla. Add flour mixture, beating until just combined. Stir in apples and coarsely chopped pecans
