PIONEER WOMAN RICE PILAF
Simple, yet tastier than plain rice. Great option when you're looking for a side dish.

Steps:
- Melt butter in a large skillet over medium heat.
- Add the onion, celery and carrots and saute until they start to soften, about 4 minutes.
- Add the wine (or broth), stir and cook until the liquid has reduced by about half.
- Add the bay leaf, the rice, the broth and salt and pepper to taste.
- Reduce the heat to low, cover the pot and let the rice simmer for 18-20 minutes, until the liquid has absorbed and the rice is perfectly cooked.
- Turn off the heat and with a fork, lightly fluff the rice. Remove the bay leaf.
- Sprinkle with minced fresh parsley, if desired, and serve.
EASY PILAF
This basic pilaf is quick and easy to make.

Steps:
- Preheat an oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). Prepare a 1 quart baking dish with butter.
- Melt the butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Fry the onion in the butter until translucent, 3 to 5 minutes. Stir in the rice; cook until the rice is slightly golden. Pour in the chicken broth. Season with the salt. Simmer another 5 minutes. Transfer to the prepared dish.
- Bake in the preheated oven until the broth is completely absorbed, 35 to 40 minutes. Fluff with a fork to serve.

RICE PILAF
This Rice Pilaf is simple, fluffy, and flavorful, and a good side dish for Chicken, Beef, Pork, and more.

Steps:
- Place the rice in a strainer, and rinse well for 2 minutes.
- Add the butter, shallots, and 1/4 tsp salt to a nonstick pan (use one that has a lid), and cook for 5 minutes, until slightly softened.
- Add the rinsed rice and toast for 3-5 minutes, stirring often, until the grains turns chalky and opaque.
- Add the chicken stock and remaining 1/4 tsp salt, and increase the heat to high. Once the liquid reaches a boil, reduce the heat to a simmer (low heat), and cover the pan with the lid**.
- Cook for 18-20 minutes, until the liquid has been absorbed.
- Stir and fluff the rice, as the bottom tends to get drier than the top, replace the lid, and let the pilaf sit for 10 more minutes. Serve and enjoy!

- Heat the oil in a pan and gently fry the onions and garlic until softened, about 5 mins. Add the spices and rice, then stir-fry for 1-2 mins. Pour in the hot stock and simmer until the stock is nearly all absorbed, about 20-25 mins. Stir in the turkey, add seasoning, then continue cooking until warmed through. Scatter over the nuts and coriander. Divide between two bowls and serve with a dollop of cranberry sauce.

- Melt butter in olive oil in a nonstick skillet with a tight-fitting lid over medium heat. Add orzo, onions and celery; sauté 3 minutes stirring often.
- Add rice and cook an additional 3-5 minutes or until orzo is deeply golden and onions are softened. Add garlic and stir for one minute. Add chicken broth, bay leaf and all seasonings.
- Cover and increase temperature to high. As soon as rice is simmering, reduce to LOW and cook for 10 minutes. Stir, replace lid and cook an additional 5-8 minutes or until liquid is absorbed. If the liquid absorbs before the rice is al dente, add up to 1/4 cup additional liquid.
