3/4 cup flour
1 tablespoon sugar
1 tablespoon cornmeal
2 teaspoons baking powder
1 -2 teaspoon salt
3/4 cup milk
2 1/2 cups onions, finely chopped

Steps:

  • Mix together the dry ingredients, then add the milk.
  • This should make a fairly thick batter.
  • Add the onions and mix thoroughly.
  • Drop the batter by spoonsful into hot oil about an inch deep.
  • When golden on one side (about 3-4 minutes), turn them and flatten them into patties.
  • Fry until golden on the second side (about 3-4 minutes).
  • Drain on paper towels.

  • 1. mix together dry ingredients add milk, beaten egg and stir batter will be thick add onions and mix throughly heat 1/4 inch oil in skillet over medium high heat drop batter by tablespoons in hot oil flatten slightly brown on both sides until nice and crisp drain on paper towels

2 teaspoons Morton salt (adjust the salt to your family's taste I only used 1 teaspoon)
3/4 cup TruMoo milk
2 1/2 cups chopped onions, about 2 small onions
Wesson oil for frying

Steps:

  • Mix together dry ingredients. Add milk and stir, batter will be thick. dd onions and mix throughly. Heat 1/2 inch oil in skillet over medium high heat. Drop batter by tablespoons in hot oil. Steps:

  • In a large bowl, mix all dry ingredients, then add milk and stir. This will give you a thick batter. Add onions and mix until well blended. Heat 1/2 inch oil in skillet over medium high heat. Drop batter by tablespoons into the hot oil. Flatten with the back of a spatula, then brown on both sides until crispy, golden brown. Drain on paper towel, sprinkle salt to taste. Pro Tip: You can make these even more craveworthy by adding 1/4 cup crumbled, cooked bacon to the batter before cooking. Other tasty add ins include: 1/4 cup green pepper, 1/4 cup cooked mushroom, or sprinkle cheddar on top after you've finished cooking. So. Delicious.

3/4 cup All-Purpose Flour
1 tablespoon Cornmeal
1 tablespoon Granulated Sugar
2 teaspoon Baking Powder
1 teaspoon Salt
3/4 cup Milk
2 cup Yellow Onion
as needed Frying Oil

Steps:

  • Mix All-Purpose Flour (3/4 cup), Cornmeal (1 tablespoon), Baking Powder (2 teaspoon), Salt (1 teaspoon) and Granulated Sugar (1 tablespoon) in a large bowl. Add Milk (3/4 cup) and stir.
  • Add chopped Yellow Onion (2 cup) and mix thoroughly. The mixture will be thick and that's what we want.
  • Heat 1/2 inch of Frying Oil (as needed) in a skillet over medium-high heat. Using a tablespoon, drop batter in hot oil, flatten ever so slightly. Fry for 3-4 minutes on each side or until brown and crisp. Drain on a paper towel.
  • Serve warm and enjoy!

3 to 4 medium onions, chopped
2 cups cold butter, divided
1 tablespoon poppy seeds
1-1/2 teaspoons salt
1-1/2 teaspoons paprika
1 teaspoon coarsely ground pepper
4 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 cup cornstarch
1 tablespoon baking powder
1 tablespoon sugar
1 tablespoon brown sugar
5 large eggs, room temperature
3/4 cup 2% milk
3/4 cup sour cream

Steps:

  • In a large skillet, cook onions in 1/2 cup butter over low heat for 10 minutes. Stir in the poppy seeds, salt, paprika and pepper; cook until onions are golden brown, stirring occasionally. Remove from the heat; set aside. , In a large bowl, combine the flour, cornstarch, baking powder and sugars. Cut in 1-1/4 cups butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Melt the remaining butter. In a small bowl, whisk the eggs, milk, sour cream and melted butter. Make a well in dry ingredients; stir in egg mixture just until moistened. , Spread into a greased 10-in. cast-iron skillet or springform pan. Spoon onion mixture over the batter. Place pan on a baking sheet. Bake at 350° until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean, 35-40 minutes. Serve warm.
