This Amaretto French Toast is a perfect breakfast or brunch for two. The splash of Amaretto in the batter kicks this French Toast up to another level.

1 Tablespoon butter
1 egg
1/2 cup milk
1/4. teaspoon vanilla extract
2 Tablespoons Amaretto
4 slices Texas Toast
Toasted cococnut (optional)

Steps:

  • Heat a large skillet or electric skillet over medium heat; add butter to melt.
  • Whisk together egg, milk, vanilla and Amaretto in a shallow bowl.
  • Dip the Texas toast in the egg mixture, coating both sides.
  • Cook the toast for 2-4 minutes per side until golden brown.
  • Serve with toasted cocount and warmed maple syrup.

Baked Croissant and Amaretto French Toast. Buttery Flaky croissants baked into a delicious French Toast with a hint of Amaretto.

3 Large croissants
3 Eggs
3/4 Cup milk
3 Tablespoons Plain Greek yogurt
1/4 Cup sugar
1 Tablespoon Amaretto
1/2 Tablespoon vanilla extract
3 Tablespoons flour
1/4 Cup brown sugar
1 tsp cinnamon
pinch of salt
3 tablespoons cold butter (cut into small pieces)

Steps:

  • Grease a 9x9 baking pan with butter or cooking spray. Tear the croissants apart into pieces and put in the prepared dish.
  • In a large bowl whisk the eggs, milk, yogurt, sugar, amaretto and vanilla. Pour evenly over bread. Cover and refrigerate overnight in the fridge.
  • For the cinnamon sugar topping, mix flour, brown sugar, cinnamon, and salt in a mixing bowl. Cut the cold butter in with a pastry cutter or just use your fingers until the mixture looks crumbly.
  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  • Before baking, sprinkle crumb mixture over the top of the croissant/egg mixture in the pan. Bake for 40-45 minutes depending on how crispy you want it to be. I like mine to be on the crispier side so I bake mine for the full 45 min!
  • Serve with warm maple syrup and enjoy!

1/2 cup butter, softened or 1/2 cup stick-style margarine
1/4 cup Amaretto
1 cup maple syrup
6 tablespoons Amaretto
4 eggs, well beaten
1/2 cup milk
12 slices French bread, thick sliced
butter, for cooking toast

Steps:

  • For butter, combine softened butter and 2 tbls. amaretto until well blended.
  • For syrup: In small saucepan, combine 1/4 cup amaretto and syrup. Heat to boiling.
  • Remove from heat and allow to cool to warm.
  • For French toast: In large skillet over medium high, melt some butter.
  • In shallow bowl mix all remaining ingredients except bread.
  • Dip bread slices in mixture until just soaked through.
  • Cook in butter until both sides are golden brown.
  • Serve immediately with Amaretto butter and Amaretto Syrup.
