SWISS ALMOND CHEESE SPREAD



Swiss Almond Cheese Spread image

Found this while looking for a copycat recipe for Olga's snackers. This is not exactly what they serve with them, but it looks yummy, anyway.

Yield 2 1/2 cups

Number Of Ingredients 7

1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese, softened
1 1/2 cups shredded swiss cheese
1/2 cup sliced almonds, toasted, divided
1/3 cup mayonnaise
2 tablespoons sliced green onions
1/8 teaspoon pepper
1/8 teaspoon ground nutmeg

Steps:

  • In a small mixing bowl, beat the cream cheese until smooth.
  • Stir in the Swiss cheese, 1/3 cup almonds, mayonnaise, onions, pepper and nutmeg.
  • Spoon onto a lightly greased pie plate.
  • Bake at 350 degrees F for 14-15 minutes or until heated through.
  • Sprinkle with remaining almonds. Serve warm with crackers.

With holiday parties just around the corner, I'm sharing a quick and very tasty appetizer. I am asked to bring it year after year.

Number Of Ingredients 5

8 ounce(s) cream cheese. softened
6 ounce(s) swiss cheese, shredded
1/3 cup(s) mayonnaise
2 tablespoon(s) green onion, chopped
1/2 cup(s) sliced almonds, toasted

Steps:

  • Combine all ingredients (save a few almonds to garnish the top). Spread in a 9" pie plate. Bake at 350 degrees for 15 minutes (stir once after 8 minutes). Remove from oven, garnish with reserved almonds. Serve with your favorite cracker.

CURRY ALMOND CHEESE SPREAD



Curry Almond Cheese Spread image

An old round tin makes an ideal container for this sweetly spiced dip. Place the spread on a plate and position the plate inside a tissue paper lined tin.

2 pkg cream cheese, room temperature (8oz each)
1 jar(s) mango chutney (9oz jar)
1 c almonds, slivered,toasted
1 Tbsp curry powder
1/2 tsp dry mustard
toasted slivered almonds
fresh cranberries for garnish

Steps:

  • 1. Process cream cheese,chutney,almonds,curry powder and mustard in a food processor until smooth, stopping to scrape down sides. Cover and chill 1 hour.
  • 2. Shape the mixture into a round. Chill until ready to serve or up to 4 days. Sprinkle with almonds. Garnish with cranberries.

Number Of Ingredients 7

1 cup mayonnaise
2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
1 medium onion, chopped
3/4 cup slivered almonds, chopped
6 bacon strips, cooked and crumbled
1 loaf (1 pound) French bread

Steps:

  • In a bowl, combine the mayonnaise and Worcestershire sauce; stir in cheese, onion, almonds and bacon. , Cut bread into 1/2-in. slices; spread with cheese mixture. Cut slices in half; place on a greased baking sheet. Bake at 400° for 8-10 minutes or until bubbly. Freeze option: Place unbaked appetizers in a single layer on a baking sheet; freeze for 1 hour. Remove from pan and store in an airtight container for up to 2 months. When ready to use, place thawed appetizers on a greased baking sheet. Bake at 400° for 10 minutes or until bubbly.
