Crispy and crunchy Air Fryer Fish is a simple recipe that will satisfy your fried fish cravings! Make up this quick and easy dish in just 20 minutes for an easy weeknight meal.

1 ½ lbs. white fish filets (about ¼ to ½-inch thick)
½ cup cornmeal (medium grind)
½ cup all purpose flour (or gluten-free 1-to-1)
2 tsp. Cajun seasoning (or Old Bay)
1 tsp. paprika
½ tsp. garlic powder
1 tsp. salt (to taste)
¼ tsp. black pepper
¼ cup mayonnaise
1 Tbsp. lemon juice

Steps:

  • Mix together cornmeal, flour, Cajun seasoning, paprika, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper in a medium-sized shallow bowl.
  • Add mayonnaise and lemon juice to a large bowl and whisk until combined.
  • Place fish filets into the mayonnaise mixture and toss until completely covered.
  • Dip each filet into the cornmeal mixture and coat all sides.
  • Place the coated fish filets into a 6-quart Air Fryer basket in a single layer. Cook at 400 °F for 8-10 minutes.* Flip filets over after 5 minutes. Repeat with remaining filets.
  • You'll know the fish is done cooking when it flakes easily with a fork.
  • Serve Air Fryer Fish with Tartar Sauce, Remoulade, or Secret Sauce.

1 cup dry bread crumbs
¼ cup vegetable oil
4 flounder fillets
1 egg, beaten
1 lemon, sliced

Steps:

  • Preheat an air fryer to 350 degrees F (180 degrees C).
  • Mix bread crumbs and oil together in a bowl. Stir until mixture becomes loose and crumbly.
  • Dip fish fillets into the egg; shake off any excess. Dip fillets into the bread crumb mixture; coat evenly and fully.
  • Lay coated fillets gently in the preheated air fryer. Cook until fish flakes easily with a fork, about 12 minutes. Garnish with lemon slices.

1 envelope taco seasoning
1 pound lake perch fillets
1 egg
1/2 cup yellow cornmeal
1/4 cup all-purpose flour
3 tablespoons canola oil

Steps:

  • Place taco seasoning in a large resealable bag; add perch fillets, one at a time, and shake to coat. In a shallow bowl, lightly beat the egg. Combine cornmeal and flour in another shallow bowl. Dip fillets in egg, then coat with cornmeal mixture. Place in a single layer on a plate; refrigerate for 15 minutes. , In a large skillet, heat oil over medium-high heat. Fry fillets for 2-3 minutes on each side or until fish flakes easily with a fork.

Steps:

  • Heat oil in electric fryer or heavy pot to 350 degrees F. Season perch evenly with kosher salt and freshly ground pepper. Place buttermilk and cornmeal separately into two shallow dishes. Dip perch first into buttermilk and immediately dredge in cornmeal. Shake off excess cornmeal. Flash-fry lake perch until crisp, golden and just cooked through.
