¼ teaspoon garlic powder or granules
¼ teaspoon onion powder
½ teaspoon salt

Steps:

  • If using frozen fish fillets, defrost them. Drizzle with olive oil, and make sure that the fish is well coated with oil.
  • In a shallow dish, mix the bread crumbs with paprika, chili powder, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder and salt.
  • Coat each fish fillet in bread crumbs, and transfer to your air fryer basket.

1 teaspoon kosher salt (, to taste)
1/2 teaspoon black pepper (, to taste)
1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 cup breadcrumbs ((or panko, crushed pork rinds, almond flour - you may need more for larger flaked breading))
1 egg (, or more if needed)

Steps:

  • Preheat the Air Fryer at 380°F/193°C for 4 minutes.
  • If fillets are large, cut in half or to desired size. Make sure they are even sized so they'll cook evenly. The thicker they are, the longer they will take to cook.Pat the fillets dry then lightly spray with oil spray. Season with the salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and paprika.
  • Put the breading in a shallow bowl. In another bowl, beat the egg. Dip a fillet in the egg, allowing excess egg to drip off. Place the coated fillet in the breadcrumbs (or breading of choice) and then sprinkle more breadcrumbs on top of the fillet. Gently press the breadcrumbs into the fillets to help them stick onto the fish. Repeat this process for all fish pieces.
  • Place a perforated parchment paper or perforated silicone mat (optional but highly recommended) in the air fryer basket or tray and lightly coat with oil spray. Lay coated fish in a single layer on the parchment (cook in batches if needed). Generously spray all sides of the breaded filets with oil spray to coat any dry spots.
  • Air Fry at 380°F/193°C for 8-14 minutes, depending on the size and thickness of your fillets. After 6 minutes, flip the fillets. Lightly spray any dry spots than then continue cooking for the remaining time or until they are crispy brown and the fish is cooked through. Serve with your favorite dip: tartar sauce, mustard, aioli, etc.

  • Cut lemon in half, lightly squeeze some of one half on to fish and then sprinkle with seasonings. (if you are only doing 2 at a time then only add half of seasonings to top of first batch)

2 teaspoons avocado oil or oil spray
1/2 teaspoon salt (more or less to taste)
1/4 teaspoon fine herbs seasoning
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder (optional)
1/8 teaspoon black pepper (more to taste)
a drizzle of lemon juice
lemon wedges for serving (optional)

Steps:

  • Rinse the frozen fish under cold water, then pat them dry and place them on a large plate.
  • Preheat the air fryer to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • While you wait for the air fryer to heat, mix the salt, fine herbs, garlic powder, and pepper in a small bowl.
  • Next, either lightly spray the fish with oil or rub the oil into it (on both sides). Then sprinkle the spice mixture onto the fish - on both sides if the fish doesn't have skin and only on the flesh side if there is skin. Drizzle a little bit of lemon juice on each fillet as well.
  • When the air fryer is hot, add the frozen fish fillets into the air fryer tray. There should not be any overlap of the fillets.
  • Cook the fillets for 12-17 minutes until fully cooked. The fillets are cooked when they are flaky - you can test this with a fork. Alternatively, the internal temperature should be 145 degrees Fahrenheit. If your fish fillet is pretty thin, there is no need to flip it during cooking. However, if your fillet is thicker, flip it after around 8 minutes of cooking. Make sure that the fish is cooked but not overcooked because then the fish will be rubbery. Cook times can vary depending on the thickness of the fillets and your air fryer so use them as guidelines only!
  • Once the fish is cooked, remove the fillets from the air fryer and serve them with lemon wedges. We like eating fish with peeled potatoes boiled in salted water and a little bit of butter melted on the stovetop or in the microwave.
