Mini hand pies filled with a buttery apple-cinnamon mixture and topped with a sweet powdered sugar glaze. They bake in less than 10 minutes in an air fryer.

4 tablespoons butter
6 tablespoons brown sugar
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
2 medium Granny Smith apples, diced
1 teaspoon cornstarch
2 teaspoons cold water
½ (14 ounce) package pastry for a 9-inch double crust pie
cooking spray
½ tablespoon grapeseed oil
¼ cup powdered sugar
1 teaspoon milk, or more as needed

Steps:

  • Combine apples, butter, brown sugar, and cinnamon in a non-stick skillet. Cook over medium heat until apples have softened, about 5 minutes.
  • Dissolve cornstarch in cold water. Stir into apple mixture and cook until sauce thickens, about 1 minute. Remove apple pie filling from heat and set aside to cool while you prepare the crust.
  • Unroll pie crust on a lightly floured surface and roll out slightly to smooth the surface of the dough. Cut the dough into rectangles small enough so that 2 can fit in your air fryer at one time. Repeat with remaining crust until you have 8 equal rectangles, re-rolling some of the scraps of dough if needed.
  • Wet the outer edges of 4 rectangles with water and place some apple filling in the center about 1/2-inch from the edges. Roll out the remaining 4 rectangles so that they are slightly larger than the filled ones. Place these rectangles on top of the filling; crimp the edges with a fork to seal. Cut 4 small slits in the tops of the pies.
  • Spray the basket of an air fryer with cooking spray. Brush the tops of 2 pies with grapeseed oil and transfer pies to the air fryer basket using a spatula.
  • Insert basket and set the temperature to 385 degrees F (195 degrees C). Bake until golden brown, about 8 minutes. Remove pies from the basket and repeat with the remaining 2 pies.
  • Mix together powdered sugar and milk in a small bowl. Brush glaze on warm pies and allow to dry. Serve pies warm or at room temperature.

  • Preheat air fryer to 400°. In a small bowl, combine apples, brown sugar, 2 teaspoons cinnamon and cornstarch. With a corner of an egg roll wrapper facing you, spread 1 scant tablespoon cream cheese to within 1 in. of edges. Place 1/3 cup apple mixture just below center of wrapper. 14.1 ounce refrigerated package pie crust
1/2 can (21 ounce) apple pie filling
1 large egg
water
3 teaspoons turbinado sugar
Caramel sauce ( for dipping, optional (

Steps:

  • Remove pie crusts from packaging and allow to come to room temperature, per package instructions.
  • Cut the pie crusts into 5-inch circles using a cookie cutter.
  • Place two slices of apples from the apple pie filling onto the pie crusts on the bottom half of the crust. With a little water on the tip of your finger, moisten the outside edges of the pie crust. Fold dough over filling to form half-moons; pinch the edges of the crust together, then crimp edges with a fork to seal.
  • In a small bowl, whisk together the egg with a splash of water. Brush the pies with the egg wash all over the tops.
  • Sprinkle ½ teaspoon of the coarse sugar over each pie.
  • Make three slits in the crust on the top of the pies.
  • Preheat the air fryer at 350 degrees F for 5 minutes. Spray the air fryer basket with nonstick cooking spray.
  • Place 2 pies in the basket at a time and air fry for about 10 minutes or until the crust is golden brown and filling is bubbling. Carefully remove and transfer to a wire rack to cool. Repeat with remaining pies. (If your air fryer basket is large, you can cook more than 2 at a time as long as they are not touching at all.)
  • Serve with caramel sauce for dipping!

1 (21 ounce) can apple pie filling
1 egg, beaten
2 tablespoons cinnamon sugar, or to taste
1 serving cooking spray

Steps:

  • Place 1 pie crust onto a lightly floured surface and roll out the dough with a rolling pin. Using a 2-1/4-inch round biscuit or cookie cutter cut the pie crust into 10 circles. Repeat with the second pie crust for a total of 20 pie crust circles.
  • Fill about 1/2 of each circle with apple pie filling. Place a second pie crust circle on top, making a mini pie. Do not overfill. Press down the edges of the mini pies, crimping with a fork to seal. Brush tops with beaten egg and sprinkle with cinnamon sugar.

4 McIntosh apples, peeled, cored, and sliced
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 teaspoon lemon juice
flour, for dusting
1 (8-biscuit) package refrigerated jumbo flaky biscuits
oil, for spraying
powdered sugar, for dusting

Steps:

  • To make filling, in a large sauté pan, melt butter. Add apples, granulated sugar, cinnamon, and lemon juice. Sauté over medium heat until apples are soft, about 15 minutes. Remove from heat and cool.
  • On a lightly floured surface, roll out biscuits into 7- to 8-inch-diameter circles. Place 2 or 3 tablespoons of the apple filling on each circle and brush edges with water. Fold half of each circle over filling to make a half-moon shape. Seal by pressing edges with tines of a fork.

1 Pillsbury Refrigerator pie crust
Baking spray
1 large apple, chopped
2 teaspoons lemon juice
1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
2 tablespoon sugar
½ teaspoon vanilla extract
1 tablespoon butter
1 beaten egg
1 tablespoon raw sugar

Steps:

  • Defrost pre made pie crust according to package directions.
  • Pre-heat the Airfryer on the highest degree while you are preparing the pie.
  • Using the smaller baking tin, cut 1 crust about an ⅛ of an inch larger than the tin and a second one a little smaller than the baking tin. You may need to roll the crust a tiny bit with a Rollin pin to stretch the pie crust. Set the smaller one aside.
  • Spray the baking tin with the baking spray and place the larger cut crust into the baking pan. Set aside.
  • In a small bowl, place the chopped Apple, lemon juice, cinnamon, sugar, and vanilla extract. Mix to combine.
  • Pour the apples into the baking pan with the pie crust.
  • Top apples with pieces of butter.
  • Place the second pie crust over the top of the apples and pinch edge. Make a few slits in the top of the dough.
  • Spread beaten egg over the top of the crust and sprinkle raw sugar over the top of the egg mixture.
  • Place pie in AirFryer basket.

3 Granny Smith apples, peeled and diced
1 cup water
1/4 cup corn starch
1 cup granulated sugar, divided
1 tsp ground cinnamon, divided
1/8 tsp ground nutmeg
1/2 tsp vanilla extract
1/8 tsp kosher salt
2 tsps fresh lemon juice
6 (10") flour tortillas, warmed
1/4 cup brown sugar
6 tbsps caramel sauce, divided, more for garnish if desired

vanilla ice cream (optional)

Steps:

  • Preheat air fryer to 400 degrees F.
  • Whisk together water and cornstarch in a small pan until no lumps remain. Over medium heat add 3/4 cups granulated sugar, 3/4 teaspoon cinnamon, nutmeg vanilla, lemon juice and salt to the cornstarch mixture. Cook for two minutes, stirring occasionally; mixture will begin to thicken. Add apples and turn down the heat to low for 7-12 minutes or until the apples are soft. Remove from heat.

  • Tuck the ends and roll the tortilla to create a chimichanga. Secure with a toothpick if needed.

1 2/3 cups all-purpose flour, spooned and leveled
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp sugar
1/2 cup unsalted butter, cold
4-5 tbsp water, cold
4 cups thinly sliced apples (peeled), about 3-4 apples
6 tbsp sugar
2 tbsp all-purpose flour
2 tsp cinnamon
2 tsp lemon juice
2 tbsp unsalted butter, cold and cut into small pieces
egg wash (1 large egg + 1 tbsp of water)
2 tbsp sugar

Steps:

  • Place the flour, salt, sugar, and butter in a food processor and pulse 4-5 times until pea-sized butter flakes are still visible. Add one tablespoon of water at a time and pulse 1-2 times after every tablespoon. Stop adding water when the dough starts to clump together.
  • Transfer the crust onto a piece of plastic wrap and shape it into a 1-inch (2.5cm) thick disc. Cover tightly with the plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 2 hours or up to 2 days.
  • Place the apples, sugar, flour, cinnamon, and lemon juice in a large mixing bowl and stir to combine. Let sit for 15 minutes so that the apples start to release some juice.
  • In the meantime, on a lightly floured surface, cut the dough into 4 equal pieces. Then cut each piece into 2/3 and 1/3 pieces so that you have 4 larger pieces of pie crust for the bottom of the ramekins and 4 smaller ones for the top of the 4 mini apple pies.
  • Roughly shape each piece into a round disc and roll out until the bottom pieces are big enough to cover the bottoms and sides of the ramekins with a little overhang and the top pieces also cover the tops of the baking forms with a slight overhang on the sides.
  • Fit the bottom pieces into the forms, spoon the apple pie filling into the crust without any excess liquid, and place a few butter pieces on top. Then place the top pie crust pieces on top of the filling and seal and flute the edges. Cut a few slits in the top to allow the steam to escape while baking. Decorate the pie crust to your liking and brush with egg wash and sprinkle with sugar.
  • Bake at 350°F (177°C) for 18 minutes. Then reduce the heat to 325°F (163°C) and bake for another 7 minutes. If you notice that it browns too quickly, you can cover the pies loosely with aluminum foil* for the last few minutes if necessary.
  • Let cool at room temperature for 2 hours. Then place in the refrigerator and chill for at least 2 hours or up to 4 days. Serve with vanilla ice cream if desired and enjoy!
