AIR FRYER CHICKEN FRIED STEAK



Air Fryer Chicken Fried Steak image

I love a great and easy meal, and this is one of my favorites. Air Fryer Chicken Fried Steak!

Number Of Ingredients 9

4 cube steaks (about 4 ounces each)
1 egg
1/4 cup milk
1 cup all-purpose flour
2 tablespoons butter
2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
3/4 cup milk
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper

Steps:

  • Start by cracking one egg, and pour the milk into a small bowl, large enough for your steak to fit as you will be dipping it in there.
  • In another bowl, mix the flour into it. I added some salt and pepper to season the flour.
  • Spray the air fryer basket with cooking spray.
  • Dredge your cube steak into the egg/milk mixture.
  • As you lift the steak, shake it off a bit to get all of the residues off, then dip it into the flour/salt/pepper mixture.
  • As you coat the steaks, place them into the air fryer basket (already sprayed)
  • Spray your meat with olive oil spray. I spray the entire steak, so you don't see any flour because if you see white spots before you air fry, you will see them when you are done, which makes for meat to be tough.
  • Set your temperature to 400 degrees F for 5 minutes. After 5 minutes, flip the steaks and spray the other side with olive oil.
  • Remove the steak and pour on gravy before serving.
  • Plate, serve, and enjoy!
  • In a small saucepan, add the butter, simmer on low heat until melted, then whisk in the flour, milk, salt, and black pepper. Continue to simmer until thickened.

Lower in fat but full flavor in this air fried version of country fried steak! Quick, easy and delicious dinner!

Number Of Ingredients 20

4 - 1/3 pound cube steaks or about 1 and 1/2 pounds
1/3 cup flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/4 teaspoon thyme (optional)
1-1/2 teaspoons onion powder
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon baking powder
2 eggs - whisked together
1/3 cup milk of choice
3 dashes hot sauce
non- stick spray
Gravy:
2 tablespoon butter
2 tablespoon flour
1 cup milk
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
*dash cayenne pepper (optional)

Steps:

  • In a large bowl, combine flour, salt, pepper, garlic powder, thyme (optional), onion powder, baking soda and baking powder.
  • whisk together.
  • In another bowl add eggs, milk and hot sauce.
  • Blend together.
  • Take chopped steaks and dip into flour mixture then into milk and egg mixture then back into flour mixture.
  • Repeat this with all of your steaks.
  • Spritz each side of your steak with some non- stick spray or spray olive oil.
  • Optional: lay down a sheet of air fryer perforated parchment paper to help prevent anything from going through the holes on the bottom of the air fryer basket.
  • Place in the air fryer and cook at 400 F. for 7 minutes, Gently flip over steak and cook for another 6 minutes. *Note -if your cube steak is extra thin, cook for 5 minutes then flip and cook for another 5 minutes so meat does not over cook.
  • For gravy: Add butter and flour to a sauce pan and begin cooking over medium heat. Melt butter and stir together with the flour. Whisk in the milk, salt, black pepper. Whisk over high heat until the mixture begins to thicken. Once thickened remove from heat and serve over chicken fried steaks.

1 Tablespoon olive oil
20 oz cube steak ((4 steaks about 5 oz each))
Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper
1/4 cup Worcestershire sauce

Steps:

  • Heat olive oil in a cast iron skillet over high heat.
  • While it is heating, season both sides of the steaks with salt and pepper.
  • Carefully place steaks in the pan. Depending on the size of your pan and steak, you may need to do this in two batches. Sear for about 3-4 minutes, or until browned, then flip over and sear the other side for another 3-4 minutes.
  • If you seared the steaks in batches, return all steaks to the pan and pour the Worcestershire sauce over the steaks. Reduce for a minute or two, turning the steaks to coat them completely in the sauce.
  • Remove from the pan and serve immediately.

4 tbsp butter
4 tbsp flour
2 to 3 cups whole milk
1/2 cup heavy whipping cream
salt and pepper to taste
1 pound cube steak, cut into 4 to 6 portions
1/2 cup all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon onion powder
1/2 teaspoon paprika
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
1 large egg
1/4 cup water

Steps:

  • Preheat your air fryer to 370 degrees.
  • Remove the cube steaks from the fridge and place them on a cutting board.
  • In a shallow bowl, combine the flour, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.
  • In a second bowl, combine the egg and water and whisk.
  • Take each portion of the cube steak and dip it into the flour mixture, the egg mixture, then back into the flour mixture making sure it is fully coated.
  • Place each piece of chicken fried steak in the air fryer in one layer, spraying the tops with oil and cook for 12 to 15, flipping halfway through and again spraying the tops with oil to get them extra crispy.
  • Meanwhile, prepare the gravy by melting the butter in a small saucepan on medium heat and slowly whisking in the flour, milk, whipping cream, salt, and pepper. Cook until thickened then remove from heat. If the mixture becomes too thick whisk in more milk until desired consistency has been reached.
  • Remove the chicken fried steak from the air fryer and pour the gravy over top before serving.

Make this savory marinated cube steak in your air fryer in a flash! We'll show you how to turn an inexpensive beef cut into a delicious dinner.

1 lb cube steak
¼ cup olive oil
¼ cup Worcestershire Sauce
¼ cup balsamic vinegar
1 tbsp Dijon mustard
2 cloves garlic (minced)
1/2 tsp kosher salt
1/4 tsp ground black pepper

Steps:

  • Preheat air fryer to 400F for 5 minutes.
  • Place cube steaks in a shallow baking dish or pan.
  • Mix together the olive oil, Worcestershire sauce, balsamic vinegar, Dijon mustard, and minced garlic. Stir to combine.
  • Pour the marinade over the cube steak. Let marinate for at least an hour in the refrigerator.
  • Remove the cube steaks from the marinade, being sure to let excess sauce drip off the steaks. Place the cube steaks in the air fryer in a single layer, working in batches if needed.
  • Air fry at 400F for 6-7 minutes, or until the cube steaks have reached an internal temperature of 145F. Be sure not to overcook as the steak will get tough.
  • Let rest for 5 minutes before slicing so the juices don't run out of the steaks.

Air Fryer Country Fried Steak is a great way to have this traditional dish while saving a few calories and not losing any of that classic flavor.

1 Pound Bottom Round Steak (or Cube Steak )
1/2 Cup Flour
1/4 Cup Corn Starch
1 teaspoon Garlic Powder
1 teaspoon Onion Powder
1 teaspoon Paprika
1 Egg
1/2 teaspoon Salt (or to taste)
1/2 teaspoon Pepper (or to taste)
1 teaspoon Cayenne (This is OPTIONAL!!! Only if you want it spicy)

Steps:

  • Beat Egg
  • Mix together flour, corn starch, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika and (if you want spice) Cayenne pepper.
  • Lightly salt and pepper steak on each side (APPX: 1/8 teaspoon of each per side)
  • Dip Steak into Egg
  • Sprinkle the flour mixture on the steak. Shake off excess flour
  • Spray one side of steak with cooking spray (this helps it brown)
  • Place sprayed sided of steak face down in Air Fryer. Spray top of steak with cooking spray
  • Bake in Air Fryer at 400° for 8 minutes
  • Flip Steak Over. Lightly spray with cooking spray
  • Cook for additional 7 minutes in Air Fryer at 400° (cooking time could be less or more depending on the thickness of your steak.)
  • Serve with potatoes and Gravy.. (see Our Gravy recipe) (Mashed Potatoes and Steak Fries are the best)
  • Enjoy!!!!
