Air Fryer Stuffed Jalapenos image

Whip up these Air Fryer Stuffed Jalapenos. Cream cheese, shredded cheese and dipped in buttered bread crumbs. The ultimate jalapeno popper recipe.

Provided by Kelsey Apley

Categories     Appetizers and Snacks

Time 35m

Number Of Ingredients 8

6 Jalapenos (or you can buy more)
6 oz cream cheese softened
1/2 cup sharp cheddar cheese
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon garlic salt with parsley
1/4 teaspoon smoked paprika
1/3 cup Italian breadcrumbs
1 tablespoon butter (melted)

Steps:

  • Start by slicing your jalapenos in half. If you don't like a lot of heat, you will scoop out the seeds in your jalapeno peppers along with the white membrane.
  • Take your halved jalapenos and rinse them under cold water, to remove the oil.
  • Now in a bowl you will add your cream cheese, shredded cheese, and seasonings and mix until the pepper stuffing is nice and creamy.
  • Spoon the popper filling into the jalapenos and set down.
  • In a small bowl mix your melted butter and bread crumbs until mixed.
  • Take your stuffed peppers and dip into the breadcrumbs. Shake off any excess and place on air fryer rack.
  • Turn air fryer to 325 and cook for 15-20 minutes. You want the bread crumbs on top of the jalapeno poppers to get golden brown.
  • Allow the hot jalapeno poppers to cool for 5 minutes before serving. Pair with your favorite dipping sauce.

Air Fryer Bacon Wrapped Jalapeño Poppers image

How big your jalapeños are will determine how much filling you need. You may have some leftover. You can use for a future batch or to stuff mushrooms or other delicious uses. If desired, you can use just a half slice of bacon per popper, but we prefer a whole slice. If using a half slice, you may need to stretch the bacon it get it to wrap around the popper nicely. All air fryers are different and some cook much hotter than others. Once you cook your first batch, you'll know more of what works for your model of air fryer and size of food.

  • Bring 3 cups of water to a boil in a medium saucepan over high. Add jalapeños; cook, stirring occasionally for 3 minutes. Transfer jalapeños to a bowl of ice water to stop the cooking process; let stand for about 30 seconds. Transfer jalapeños to a plate lined with paper towels. Carefully make a slit vertically along the side of each jalapeño. Remove seeds and veins (gloves are best for this!). Rinse and dry thoroughly.
  • Stir together Cheddar, cream cheese, and 1/2 teaspoon of the salt in a medium bowl until combined. Fill each pepper with about 2 teaspoons of cheese filling; close slit to seal in cheese.
  • Place flour in 1 shallow dish, eggs in a second shallow dish, and panko and remaining 1 teaspoon salt in a third dish. Dip stuffed jalapeños in eggs, allowing excess to drip off. Coat lightly in flour. Return coated jalapeños to egg dish for a second dip, and finally coat in panko.
  • Turn the air-fryer to 375°F, and allow it to preheat 3 to 5 minutes. Coat the basket and breaded jalapeños with cooking spray. Add 4 jalapeños at a time to air-fryer. Cook until golden brown, 10 to 12 minutes, turning half way through. Repeat with remaining jalapeños.
