Time 1h10m

Number Of Ingredients 11

1-2 racks pork ribs ((*see note below))
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon chili powder
1 teaspoon onion powder
1 teaspoon light brown sugar
1 cup water
1/2 cup apple juice (, or 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar)

  • When the timer beeps, allow the pressure to naturally release for 15 min, then turn the valve to quick release.

  • Optional: broil them in the oven for 2-3 minutes to caramelize the bbq sauce.

INSTANT POT BABY BACK RIBS RECIPE - (4.6/5)

Instant Pot Baby Back Ribs Recipe - (4.6/5) image

Provided by kristentirrell

Number Of Ingredients 15

RUB:
1 (4-pound) rack of baby back pork ribs
rub (recipe below), or 1/2 cup Neely's BBQ Seasoning or to taste
1 cup water
1/2 cup apple cider vinegar
1/4 teaspoon liquid smoke, optional
1/2 cup BBQ sauce
1/4 cup brown sugar
1 teaspoon chili powder
2 teaspoon dried parsley
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon black pepper
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon onion powder
1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper

Steps:

  • Remove the lining from the bottom side of the ribs by running a butter knife under the skin and then using a paper towel to grip and remove completely. Mix rub ingredients together and rub onto the ribs. Or rub Neely's BBQ Seasoning onto the ribs. Place the rack in your pressure cooker and place the ribs inside the pot, standing on their side, wrapping around the inside of the pot. Pour in the water, apple cider, and liquid smoke (if using), being careful to not wash off any of the seasonings. Secure the lid, making sure the vent is closed. Press the Meat button and set to 25 minutes. Let the pressure naturally release for 10 minutes, then quick release the rest of the way. Carefully remove the ribs from the pressure cooker and set on a foil-lined baking sheet. Brush down with your favorite BBQ sauce, and pop under the broiler for 5 minutes, but keep an eye on it so it doesn't burn. NOTE: You can double the recipe, by wrapping the second rack of ribs around the first. Just double the spices, but keep the same amount of liquid underneath.

INSTANT POT COUNTRY STYLE RIBS

Instant Pot Country Style Ribs image

Instant Pot Country Style Ribs from fresh or frozen only need 4 flexible ingredients! Simply dump everything into the Instant Pot for a flavorful, mouthwatering, and effortless meal!

Provided by Lisa Childs

Categories     Pork

Time 52m

Number Of Ingredients 4

4 pounds boneless country style ribs
3 tablespoons rib/bbq rub or seasoning
1/2 cup Sweet Baby Rays BBQ Sauce (or your favorite)
3/4 cup root beer, cola, or Dr. Pepper (not diet)

Steps:

  • Add all ingredients to the Instant Pot and lightly toss with tongs so the meat has seasoning all over it.
  • Lock the Lid, turn the knob to Sealing, and cook on the Meat/Stew setting for 35 minutes. If you do not have this setting, use the Manual or Pressure Cook button. For frozen, cook for 40 minutes with a 15 minute natural pressure release.
  • After the 35 minute pressure cook, allow a 15 minute natural pressure release. If you don't have time for this, you don't have to do it, but it will help tenderize the meat.
  • Release the rest of the pressure, if any, and remove the lid.
  • Remove the ribs from the Instant Pot. Baste the ribs with more sauce and enjoy! You can also baste the ribs with more sauce and broil in the oven or air fryer for about 5 minutes to get a little crispier.

  • In a small bowl, combine 1 tablespoon salt, 3/4 teaspoon pepper, and 3 teaspoons of the smoked paprika. Rub the mix all over the ribs.
  • In a 6 or 8-quart Instant Pot, combine 1 tablespoon of the apple cider vinegar and 1/4 cup water. Place the rib rack upright in the Instant Pot insert, curving it into a cylinder. Select the manual setting, adjust the pressure to high, and set the time for 30 minutes. Once cooked, let the Instant Pot sit unopened for 10 minutes, then quick-release the pressure following the manufacturer’s directions. Reserve the ribs and liquid in the bottom.
  • Meanwhile, make the barbecue sauce: Heat the olive oil in a saucepan over medium-low heat. Add the shallot and cook, stirring occasionally, until soft and translucent, 3 to 4 minutes. Stir in the cumin and remaining 1 teaspoon smoked paprika and cook for 1 minute more. Add the ketchup, sweetener, hot sauce, and the remaining 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar. Stir to combine, cook for 1 minute, then set aside.
  • Line a rimmed baking sheet with foil. Place an oven rack about 6 inches from the broiler, then preheat the oven to broil. Carefully transfer the rib rack to the prepared baking sheet, bone side up.

  • Mix together the chili powder, garlic powder, ground ginger, salt and pepper and sprinkle it all over the ribs. Put the ribs standing up on the trivet, in the pressure cooker, in one layer. Add ½ cup water and 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar. Put the top on the pressure cooker and set the lever on top to sealing. Press the manual button and adjust the time to 20 minutes at high pressure. If you are using baby back or St. Louis style ribs you would set the timer for 18 minutes. Allow a natural release for 10-15 minutes and then do a quick release.
  • Remove the ribs from the pressure cooker and place them on a cookie sheet in one single layer. Brush on the barbecue sauce all over ribs, be sure to flip them and do the other side. Place the ribs under the broiler in your oven just until the barbecue sauce begins to caramelize, then flip them and do the same thing on the other side. This should take about 3-5 minutes per side.
