FOURTH OF JULY LAYERED GELATIN
A hit with kids and those young at heart. My childhood neighbor made it our block party and now, even though I have moved far away, I still make it with fond memories...it just isn't Fourth of July without it! I have seen similar recipes where the white layer is made with sour cream or whipped topping, but this one uses sweetened condensed milk...easy and delicious!

Steps:
- Place cherry gelatin mix into a heatproof bowl, stir in 1 packet of unflavored gelatin, and mix with 2 cups of boiling water, stirring until the gelatin has dissolved and the mixture is clear, about 2 minutes. Pour into the bottom of a 9x13 rectangular glass baking dish. Place in refrigerator until completely cold and set, about 1 hour.
- Sprinkle 4 packets of unflavored gelatin onto 1 cup of boiling water in a heatproof bowl, allow to stand for about 3 minutes, and stir until dissolved; mix in the sweetened condensed milk. Allow to cool but not thicken, about 10 minutes; gently pour into a layer on top of the cherry layer. Return to refrigerator and allow to chill completely, about 1 more hour.
- Place blue raspberry gelatin mix and 1 packet of unflavored gelatin into a heatproof bowl, and mix with 2 cups of boiling water, stirring until the blue gelatin is clear, about 2 minutes. Allow to stand and cool but not thicken, about 10 minutes; gently pour onto the white layer. Chill in refrigerator until the dessert is firm and cold, about 1 hour. To serve, cut into squares.

Steps:
- 1. To prepare first white layer add boiling water to gelatin in a medium sized bowl. Stir until gelatin is dissolved. Add condensed milk and cream and mix. Pour into greased 8"x8" pan and allow to set 4-6 hours. Once solid, cut out star shapes. Place stars into the bottom of a greased bundt pan in a desired pattern.
- 2. Prepare blue layer by adding boiling water to gelatin and jello. Stir until dissolved. Add cold water. Pour 1/2 cup of blue jello to the bundt pan, ensuring that the stars are NOT covered (they may float if you don't). Place in fridge to set 15-20 minutes. Add remain blue layer once set, and return to fridge.
- 3. Prepare the second white layer by adding boiling water to gelatin in a medium sized bowl. Stir until gelatin is dissolved. Add condensed milk and cream and mix. Pour onto the blue layer once it is set. Return to fridge.
- 4. Prepare red layer and pour on top of white layer, once it is set. Return to fridge. Allow cake to set overnight in the fridge.
- 5. To remove, gently pull the Jello from the sides of the pan and it will release. Place plate on top of bundt pan, and flip plate and pan upside down. Jello cake should release once upside down.

Steps:
- Slice about 1 cup of the strawberries. Halve the remaining 3 cups of strawberries and set aside.
- In a large bowl, stir boiling water into dry Jell-O mix for at least 2 minutes, until completely dissolved.
- To the 1 cup of cold water, add enough ice cubes to measure 2 cups. Stir cold water and ice into the Jell-O and stir until ice is melted. Refrigerate for about 5 minutes or until slightly thickened (consistency of unbeaten egg whites).
- Meanwhile, cut the cake loaf into 10 equal slices and line the bottom of a 9x13 pan with the slices.
- Add sliced strawberries and 1 cup of blueberries to the thickened Jell-O; stir gently. Spoon the Jell-O mixture over the cake slices, trying to distribute the mixture evenly. Refrigerate 4 hours, until firm.
- Spread the whipped topping over the Jell-O cake. Arrange strawberry halves on top to make the stripes of the flag. Use the remaining 1/3 cup blueberries to the square of stars for the flag.
- Keep chilled until serving.

Steps:
- For each flavor, dissolve one box of Jello in 2 cups of boiling water. Pour into two separate 9x13" pans and chill for at least 3 hours, or overnight.
- After chilling the flavors, cut them into small squares. Mix both colors of Jello squares in one 9x13" pan. In a separate bowl, sprinkle 2 envelopes of unflavored gelatin into 1/2 cup cold water. Let the gelatin expand in the water for a few minutes, then add 1 1/2 cups boiling water and whisk together until the unflavored gelatin dissolves.
- Mix in the can of sweetened condensed milk, stir and let cool at room temperature. Once the milk mixture has cooled, pour over Jello squares in the 9x13" pan. Chill for a few hours until set up. Cut into blocks or shapes and serve. These sweet treats are one of the best patriotic desserts!

- Bake a white cake in a 13x9 inch pan according to package instructions. Remove from oven and then allow to cool.
- Mix together the blue and red gelatin each with 1 cup of boiling water until dissolved, and then spoon each color gelatin over the cake, making sure to pour over the holes. The best way to do this is a row of blue, then a row of red and alternate so you get a colorful mix of red and blue in the cake. It's good to spoon over each row 2-3 times for good coverage.
- Then mix together cream cheese and powdered sugar with 2 tablespoons of milk. Mix in the whipped topping.
