Number Of Ingredients 3

1 16- ounce bag frozen strawberries (thawed)
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup water

Steps:

  • In a medium saucepan, combine the strawberries, sugar and water.
  • Heat on medium high until boiling.
  • Reduce heat to medium low and simmer for 15 minutes stirring occasionally.
  • About halfway through, use a potato masher to mash the strawberries or before putting the thawed strawberries into the pan, smash them gently in the bag with your hands.
  • Can be served warm or cold.

1 qt 4 cups fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced
1/3 cup xylitol (or sugar)
2 tablespoons lemon juice
1/4 cup water

Steps:

  • Place all ingredients in a medium saucepan over medium-high heat. Bring strawberry sauce to a simmer, stirring constantly until sauce is bubbly and slightly thickened.
  • Remove from heat and cool before using.
