1 cup heavy whipping cream + 1 Tablespoon
2 1/4 cup self rising flour

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 375*F Prepare a baking sheet and set aside. Whip all of heavy cream until soft peaks form. Add flour and whip up with mixer until dough comes together. If your dough will not come together, but instead looks like small peas, add a teaspoon more of heavy cream. If your dough is too sticky, add a sprinkle of flour to the batch. Form 8 biscuits in your hands and place on a baking sheet. Bake for 12 - 15 minutes or until biscuits are beginning to turn golden.

Another quick and easy Southern Living recipe. Haven't tried them yet, but they sound delicious. Due to the richness of these biscuits, they are probably best kept for holidays and special occasions. This recipe makes two dozen biscuits, so feel free to halve or quarter the recipe.

1 cup butter
4 cups self-rising flour
1 3/4-2 cups whipping cream
1/2 cup butter, melted

Steps:

  • Cut 1 cup butter into flour with a pastry blender or fork until crumbly. Add whipping cream, stirring just until dry ingredients are moistened.
  • Turn dough out onto a light floured surface and knead lightly 3 or 4 times. Roll or pat dough to 3/4 inch thickness.
  • Cut with a 2-inch round cutter, and place biscuits on a lightly greased baking sheet.
  • Bake at 400 degrees F. for 13-15 minutes. Brush warm biscuits with 1/2 cup melted butter.

2 c bisquick baking mix
2/3 c whipping cream

Steps:

  • 1. Heat oven to 450 degrees.
  • 2. Mix baking mix and whipping cream until soft dough forms. Turn onto cloth-covered board well dusted with baking mix. Gently roll in baking mix to coat; shape into ball. Knead 10 times. Roll or pat 1/2 inch thick.
  • 3. CUT with 2-inch biscuit cutter dipped in baking mix. Place about 1 inch apart on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake until golden brown, approximately 10-12 minutes.
  • 4. Serve with butter and/or your favorite jelly, honey or other condiment.
  • 5. DO-AHEAD TIP: Before baking, biscuits can be cut with cutter, covered and refrigerated up to 4 hours.
